Investcorp, a global provider and manager of alternative investment products, has made the company’s first private equity investment in China since its inception in 1982.

Natixis has appointed Nasir Khan as Head of Infrastructure, Americas.
Khan will be responsible for the growth and development of the bank’s infrastructure sector for the region and as the company advances its sectorial based approach to best serve its clients, he will assume responsibility for Infrastructure Finance as well as Infrastructure related industry groups including Power and Renewables, Transportation and Social Infrastructure, and Telecommunications.
Khan will report globally to Oliver Delay, Global Head of Real Assets, and locally to Benjamin Sirgue, Head of Strategic Sectors & Distribution, Americas.

O’Melveny has represented Silicon Valley-based electric vehicle company Lucid Motors in connection with securing over USD1 billion in investments from the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Bertelsmann is to acquire the US online education provider OnCourse Learning from the private equity company CIP Capital, for an amount in the mid-nine-digit euro range.
The transaction further strengthens Bertelsmann’s presence in the US. Alongside the acquisitions of the Random House book group in 1998, the online education provider Relias in 2014, and the takeover of a 75 per cent majority stake in Penguin Random House in 2017, this purchase is one of Bertelsmann’s largest transactions in the American market. Graycliff Partners has made an investment in Graybill Processing (Graybill), a food by-product recycling company based in Pennsylvania, partnering with Dallas-based private equity company NCK Capital, to provide subordinated debt and equity financing to the company.

HIG Capital (HIG) has appointed Matthew Kretzman as a Managing Director based in New York, with responsibility for capital markets and execution across the North American private equity portfolio.
Kretzman has more than ten years of capital markets experience. Prior to joining HIG, he spent over six years at KKR where he was most recently a Director in the Credit & Markets division, responsible for private debt and capital markets origination and execution for financial sponsors and other firm clients. Prior to KKR, Matthew spent five years at Credit Suisse where he focused on Leveraged Finance and Equity Capital Markets.
SHS Gesellschaft fuer Beteiligungsmanagement, MBG Baden-Württemberg and VC Fonds BW announced that SHS has sold its shareholding in Emerging Implant Technologies (EIT), a manufacturer of 3D-printed titanium interbody implants for spinal fusion surgery, to Johnson & Johnson Medical.

Private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP) has partnered with management to acquire Seattle-based LifeSpan Biosciences (LSBio), a founder-led developer and distributer of antibodies and related reagents primarily to the academic and pharmaceutical research markets via its e-commerce platform.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
