Private equity investment firm Golden Gate Capital (Golden Gate) has acquired The Learning Experience, an academy of early education for children six weeks to six years old.
The Learning Experience, headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, is led by Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer Richard Weissman. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

LFPI has completed an indirect minority investment in the share capital of Umanis. Umanis, French leader in data, digital and business solutions, remains owned and controlled by its longstanding shareholders Laurent Piepszownik and Olivier Pouligny, who have entered into a shareholders’ agreement with LFPI.

Venture capital funds globally continued their strong run of performance over recent years in the first quarter of 2018, with a near-record return of 1.45x, according to new data published by eFront.
The company’s latest Quarterly Private Equity Performance Report shows that despite a small seasonal dip from the all-time high of 1.49x recorded in Q4 2017, venture capital returns continued their strong performance of the past three years in Q1, sitting at 1.45x. Multiples have been hovering between 1.40x and 1.50x since Q4 2014 and remain well above the long-term average.

ARX Equity Partners (ARX) has completed the majority acquisition of TMX Mobile Solutions (TMX), a Hungary-based mobile device repair business on track to generate a revenue stream of over EUR40 million in 2018.
Going forward, ARX will partner with the company’s senior management, who retain a significant minority stake as part of the deal. The value of the acquisition, which was completed on 2 July, has not been disclosed.
TMX employs over 400 skilled staff, who deliver a service-offering comprised of physical repair, logistics and refurbishment of mobile phones. They repair approximately 500,000 mobile devices annually for B2B customers
International payments company Airwallex has completed its Series B fundraising. The company has now secured USUSD80 million in outside investment, taking their total fundraising to USD102 million.
In this round, returning Series A investors Tencent and Sequoia China were joined by fellow China based Hillhouse, Sir Ka-Shing Li’s Horizons Ventures from Hong Kong, Indonesia’s Central Capital Ventura (BCA) and Australia’s Square Peg, with whom Airwallex partnered in December for USUSD6m Series A+ funding.

Recover Nordic, a provider of damage control, emergency response and environmental services, and portfolio company for private equity firm Agilitas, has made four further strategic add-on acquisitions, bringing the total number of add-ons to fourteen since Agilitas acquired the group in 2013.
The combined revenues from the acquisitions increase Recover Nordic’s revenues by over NOK150 million to a group figure of NOK2.3 billion. The combined group will employ 1,700 employees across about 80 locations in the Nordics.

Law firm Paul Hastings has represented new client Abry Partners II, a media, communications, business and information services focused private equity investment firm, on its recommended voluntary cash offer to acquire all shares in LINK Mobility Group ASA at an offer price that values Link Mobility Group ASA at NOK3,396 million (EUR357 million).
The firm won Abry as a client with the arrival of relationship partner Anu Balasubramanian from DLA Piper in June 2018.
