Alternative investment consultancy Lionpoint Group has partnered with eFront and Foresight Group to implement a fully integrated front-to-back office solution across all of Foresight's investment activities.
Lionpoint will act as project manager and lead consultant working closely with Foresight business representatives and eFront technical resources to configure and deploy eFront's flagship product, FrontInvest, as well as the latest version of eFront's market leading investor relations portal, eFront Investment Café.
Foresight manages some GBP2 billion of infrastructure and private equity assets in the UK, US, Southern Europe and Australia.

Private equity and venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners has appointed Ian Sandler as chief operating officer (COO).
He will have direct responsibility across legal, finance, compliance, investor relations, IT, HR and onsite and will focus on scaling the organisation.
Sandler will report directly to managing director Deven Parekh.

Law firm Howard Kennedy is acting for Octopus Apollo VCT on the issue of its 2017 prospectus and on its proposed merger with Octopus Eclipse VCT.
Its 2017 issue will see Octopus Apollo VCT target a fundraise of GBP20 million.
The proposed merger with Octopus Eclipse VCT will bring efficiencies in the annual running and administration costs whilst enabling it to spread portfolio risks across a broader range of investments.

The acquisition for TradeHero’s brand outside of China and the US, further expands ayondo’s footprint in Singapore nearly a year after it announced a partnership with KGI Fraser Securities to launch KGI Contrax, a platform for investors to trade Contracts for Difference (CFD).

Perella Weinberg Partners (PWP) and Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co (TPH) are to planning to merge their two businesses with the combined firm adopting the Perella Weinberg Partners name.
TPH’s energy practice will continue to operate as Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co.
Subject to customary conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2016. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed although PWP’s founding investors will remain shareholders in the combined company, with some providing additional growth capital.

Law firm Paul Hastings has represented Samsung Electronics in its USD8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries.
Harman provides connected car solutions, with more than 30 million vehicles currently equipped with its connected car and audio systems, including embedded infotainment, telematics, connected safety, and security.
Through the acquisition, Samsung will add Harman’s experience designing and integrating sophisticated in-vehicle technologies, and position itself to leverage Harman’s long-term relationships with most of the world’s largest automakers, creating growth opportunities for the combined business.
The transaction is Samsung’s largest-ever acquisition, and is the largest Korean outbound M&A transaction on record.
Liberum, a pan-European investment bank, signed a multi-year deal with Torstone Technology to use Inferno in July and went live last week, implementing a complete back office system within four months.
Inferno will process Liberum’s post-trade flow, from trade capture through to settlement, accounting and reconciliation.
