The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has provisionally cleared VTech’s acquisition of LeapFrog Enterprises.
The CMA found that the merger may not be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition in the supply of learning toys for 0-5 year-olds, children tablets and content or future innovation in toys.
The CMA’s final decision will be made after collecting views on the provisional findings and assessing all evidence.

The joint owners of Switzerland-based Unilabs, private equity funds Apax Europe VI, Nordic Capital Fund VI and Apax France VII, have accepted an offer from Apax IX, advised by Apax Partners, for the acquisition of their respective stakes in Unilabs.
Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has completed its exit from Skyscanner, following the formal completion of the company’s GBP1.4 billion sale to Ctrip, a Chinese online travel services provider.
SEP, which was Skyscanner’s largest shareholder, owned approximately one third of the Edinburgh-headquartered travel search company and made its initial investment back in 2007.
At the time, Skyscanner employed less than 30 people, had revenues of approximately GBP1 million and focused on budget airlines in Europe.
It now has over 800 employees and is one of the top online travel brands in the world, serving 60 million monthly active users
Noerr has advised long term client Foodpanda on the sale of Russian food delivery company Delivery Club to Mail.Ru Group, one of Russia’s largest Internet companies.
Mail.Ru Group will acquire 100 per cent of Delivery Club in an all cash transaction. The total deal value is USD100 million. The deal is not subject to any third party approvals.
Delivery Club is the leading player in the growing Russian internet food delivery market. It currently has over 4,500 connected restaurants with the number of daily orders reaching 20,000. In H1 2016 net revenues were RUB296 million.

November was Assetz Capital's best month ever with GBP26 million worth of capital flowing through the peer-to-peer (P2P) platform.
Assetz Capital, launched to the public in early 2013, aims to help British small and medium sized businesses and property developers with their funding requirements.
To date over GBP185 million has invested through the platform, typically earning investors gross rates of return between 3.75 per cent and 15 per cent per annum.

It is difficult for investors to compare loan-based and investment-based crowdfunding platforms with each other or to compare crowdfunding with other asset classes due to complex and often unclear product offerings, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) says.
The regulator also says it is difficult for investors to assess the risks and returns of investing on a platform.
The FCA has given an update on the post-implementation review of the loan-based and investment-based crowdfunding market.
The FCA’s earlier call for input raised a number of issues for discussion and the statement provides a first response to the feedback received
