KKR is to acquire a majority stake in cyber security specialist Optiv Security from a group of private investors, including a private equity fund managed by Blackstone. Blackstone will maintain a minority interest in Optiv along with Optiv management.   Other selling shareholders include Investcorp and Sverica. Financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.   Over the past three years, Optiv has served more than 7,500 clients in 76 countries, including 71 of the Fortune 100 and 604 of the Fortune 1000. Kirkland & Ellis has advised CD Capital, a London-based specialist natural resources and mining private equity manager, on the closing of the CD Capital Natural Resources Fund III. Alternative asset manager Atalaya Capital Management has closed its third Asset Income Fund (AIF III) at its USD525 million hard cap, exceeding its USD500 million target. AIF III held its first close in June 2016. AIF III’s investors are primarily public and corporate pension plans, foundations, and endowments.   In the first six months of the investment period, AIF III has called close to 50 per cent of its capital commitments.   Like previous Atalaya Asset Income Funds, AIF III will primarily originate loans to financial asset and real estate borrowers. Polaris has agreed to sell Avanti Wind Systems to Alimak Group, marking the private equity firm’s sixth exit in the past 18 months. With Polaris as its owner since 2011, Avanti, a specialist in service lifts as well as ladder and safety systems for the wind turbine industry, has doubled revenue and expanded its global sales and production platform during the period.   The company today has more than 400 employees, six production units and service units in 9 countries. Private equity firm Cinven has agreed to sell Host Europe Group (HEG), one of the largest privately-owned web services providers in Europe, to GoDaddy, a cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures. DOB Equity, a Dutch family office and 49 per cent shareholder in ferry builder and operator Globology, has teamed up with Hooge Raedt Social Ventures (HRSV) to scale Globology’s fleet and increase the supply water transportation services around Lake Victoria in Kenya.
