mSurvey has secured an investment from Safaricom's Spark Venture Fund, a USD1 million fund with an objective of accelerating high-potential Kenya-based mobile technology start-ups. The investment in mSurvey marks the second and largest Spark Venture Fund investment to date.   With the investment, Safaricom Spark joins Silicon Valley's Cross Culture Ventures and the Virgin Group-backed, Caribbean-focused Alpha Angels network as investors in mSurvey.   Terms of the deal were not disclosed.   mSurvey will use the Spark Venture Fund investment to drive a value-add to merchants who use Safaricom's Lipa Na M-PESA service, a solution that allows consumers to pay

BlueTalon has closed a USD16 million Series A financing round led by Maverick Ventures, with participation from new investor Arsenal Venture Partners and existing investors Signia Venture Partners, Data Collective, Divergent Ventures, Bloomberg Beta and Stanford-StartX Fund. Funds managed by Alpina Partners have acquired Cimdata from Infoniqa Holding and iLab24. Cimdata will now become part of a larger group of enterprise software businesses focusing on enterprise resource planning (ERP).   Alpina has previously acquired a majority stake in Oxaion, an ERP software company based in Ettlingen, Germany.   Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   “We are happy to welcome Cimdata as new member of our software buy-and-build platform. Guernsey Finance – the promotional agency for the island’s finance industry internationally – has launched a new corporate brand and logo, We Are Guernsey.
