Rainer Traugott is to join Latham & Watkins as a partner in the Corporate Department of the firm’s Munich office.
Traugott’s practice focuses on the representation of large German corporates and private equity firms on M&A transactions and a broad range of corporate law matters.
Traugott will bring more than 20 years of experience advising high profile strategic and private equity clients in M&A transactions. He has also built a strong reputation in company representation work, including advice to the management and supervisory board and corporate governance matters.

A survey of private equity investors has found that 30 per cent feel their investments have exceeded their expectations over the past year, up from 17 per cent that felt that way in December 2014.

Senior executives at financial services firms are concerned that regulation in the sector is not promoting stability, according to the 2016 Global Regulatory Outlook published by Duff & Phelps.
A majority of 193 C-Suite and senior level staff polled by the firm believe that regulation is having little or no effect on stability, and potentially making the industry less stable.

Investment funds affiliated with private equity firm Lightyear Capital and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), are to acquire AIG Advisor Group, a subsidiary of American International Group (AIG).
Terms of the transaction, which is subject to customary regulatory and other approvals, have not been disclosed.

Private equity firm Monomoy Capital Partners’ portfolio company, Katun Corporation has completed a successful USD52 million recapitalisation with HSBC and Comvest Capital.
The proceeds of the recapitalisation were used to repay Katun’s existing debt and to pay a substantial dividend to Katun’s shareholders.
