Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) has signed an agreement to invest in common stock of up to USD3.5 million in Union Group subsidiary Andean Power Generation SAC. The proceeds will be used in the construction of El Carmen and 8 de Agosto hydropower plants in the Huánuco region in central Peru, which will generate a combined 27.4 MW of capacity and are backed by two 20-year power purchase agreements with the Peruvian Government. They are due to start operating during Q1 2016.   These plants will add a total of 204 GWh of clean energy per year to the Peruvian power
Mid Europa Partners, a private equity firm focused on Central Europe and Turkey, has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Customer Management Center (CMC). Established in 2000, CMC is the largest independent outsourced call centre and customer management services provider in Turkey.  The Company operates a total of four call centres from Istanbul, Malatya and Şanlıurfa, and provides both inbound as well as outbound services to over 70 blue chip corporate customers operating in various industries. 
Investec Investment Banking has appointed Dan Sheahan (pictured) to lead its Investment Banking activities in the North of England. Sheahan is a Corporate Financier with substantial experience of originating and transacting complex deals across many industries. Bloxx, a provider of real-time Internet and email filtering solutions, has been sold by its shareholders – including Archangel Investors and Scottish Investment Bank – to US-based Akamai Technologies, Inc. Bloxx was established in 1999 and has grown to become one of the world’s leading providers of web and email filtering for medium sized and large organisations in education, business and the public sectors, helping to protect 800 million devices across the globe. The company employs 55 people at its offices in Livingston and Newton, Massachusetts. Its acquisition, for an undisclosed consideration, is expected to complement Akamai’s enterprise security strategy

On 22 September, the SEC hit RT Jones Capital Equities Management, a St Louis-based investment adviser with a USD75k penalty for failing to have sufficient cybersecurity policies and procedures in place.
