Scout RFP, a cloud-based sourcing platform, has raised USD2.75 million in seed financing led by venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with participation from Google Ventures and Zapis Capital. Angel investors Techammer & Tim O'Shaughnessy also participated.  The funding will be used to grow the company's engineering team and scale the product for their enterprise customers. H&F Luxembourg 1, an affiliate of Hellman & Friedman, has successfully completed the sale of its remaining holding in the share capital of Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) in a private placement to institutional investors. Hellman & Friedman acquired its stake in GTT in 2008 and became a shareholder alongside Total and GDF Suez. Market abuse is expected to be one of the primary focuses of regulators in the coming year, according to a global survey of nearly 300 finance professionals conducted by Kinetic Partners.  Regarding what respondents believed the priority for regulators would be in 2015, twice as many senior executives cited market abuse as those who named tax-related investigations, the next most commonly cited issue.   The results of the survey, analysed in Kinetic Partners’ annual Global Regulatory Outlook report, show 37% of those surveyed (and 44% of C-suite executives) named market abuse as a key issue for regulators, ahead of tax-related
GBR Phoenix Beard has acquired Optic Asset Management following several months of detailed discussions between the firms.  The new business will be called GBR Phoenix Beard and will trade with immediate effect. Optic’s London team is scheduled to re-locate from current offices in Wells Street to GBR Phoenix Beard’s Chandos Street base in March. The acquisition will mean that GBR Phoenix Beard will now have a base in central Leeds. The shareholders of trial strategy consulting firm DOAR have bought back private equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson’s stake in the company. DOAR provides trial strategy consulting and related services for individuals, law firms and corporations involved in high stakes civil, regulatory and white collar criminal litigation. The initial investment by Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS) occurred in 2005 with additional investments used to fund growth through the addition of new lines of business and acquisitions. Ashurst has advised on the GBP680 million sale of the Jurys Inn hotel chain to US private equity group Lone Star.  The business, which has four hotels in London, another 21 across the UK, five in Ireland and one in Prague, has been sold less than two years after restructuring its debt, in relation to which Ashurst also acted. Ashurst acted for the seller, Jurys Inn Holdings Limited, which is owned by Oman Investment Fund, Mount Kellett Capital Management, Ulster Bank, Westmont Hospitality Group and Avestus Capital Partners. Jurys Inn employs about 2,000 people and operates 7,000 rooms. The
