Debt management company MoneyPlus Group (MPG), backed by Palatine Private Equity, has appointed Richard Elgott as commercial director.
Elgott has spent the past seven years working in professional services, most recently at Deloitte and, prior to that, KPMG. He is an accountant by profession and has worked in corporate finance and transaction services providing specialist operational advice on strategy, integration and disposals.
Elgott has significant experience across a range of industry sectors including telecoms, oil and gas, consumer goods and energy. He has also worked with financial services clients including HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, ING and Virgin
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has appointed Shusaku Minoda to chairman of KKR Japan from his position as managing director and chief executive officer.
In addition, Hirofumi Hirano has been hired as the new managing director and chief executive officer of KKR Japan.
Hirano joins KKR from AlixPartners Asia where he was managing director and head of Asia financial service industry practice.
Both appointments are effective 15 April 2013.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Foundation Capital has closed its seventh fund, Foundation Capital Fund VII, at USD282m bringing total capital under management to USD2.7bn over its 17-year history.

Indian private equity investments in Q1 2013 were recorded at USD1.8bn, a quarter less than the USD2.45bn worth of investments recorded during the corresponding period last year, according to VCCEdge’s latest Quarterly Deal Report.
Deal volume declined by a third as well, falling from 186 deals to 123 deals.

Independent private equity firm Nixen Partners has appointed Vincent Houlot as partner.
The 37-year-old, who graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris and Oxford University, began his career in 1998 with the consulting firm Bossard Gemini Consulting.

Cortland Fund Services has been appointed to provide fund administration services on four new private equity real estate funds managed by institutional real estate investment management firm BainbridgeZKS.
Based in San Francisco and San Diego, BainbridgeZKS targets the commercial and specialty real estate industry focused on partnering and investing in work-outs, turnarounds, distressed situations, and restructurings.
With over USD22bn under administration, Cortland is a third-party fund administrator. Cortland clients include several of the country’s leading private equity and real estate firms.
