Altius Associates has appointed two senior associates to its global investment team.
Jeffrey Kopocis will be based in the Richmond, Virginia office and Arnaud Garel-Galais will be based in the London office.

Private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners has acquired MB Aerospace in partnership with the company’s management team.
Headquartered in Motherwell, UK, MB Aerospace is a provider of highly engineered components for the commercial and military aero-engine and industrial gas turbine markets.
MB Aerospace manufactures complex rings, casings and other engine components for a large and diversified portfolio of aero engine and industrial gas turbine platforms. The company’s blue-chip customer base includes large OEM’s such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, General Electric, Boeing, United Technologies, GKN, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Volvo Aerospace.

There were 665 private equity-backed buyout deals announced globally in Q1 2013, valued at a total of USD87bn, a 112 per cent increase from the USD41bn in the same quarter last year, according to Preqin.
However, the number of deals fell from 770 in Q4 2012 to 665 in the first quarter of 2013.

North Castle is a private equity firm focused on investments in consumer-driven companies that promote healthy, active and sustainable living.
The terms of the investment, which is being made in partnership with chief executive Sami El-Saden, were not disclosed.

UMB Fund Services (UMBFS) has made leadership changes and appointed a new representative for its business development team.
Lonnie Macdonald has transitioned out of his role as head of business development for UMBFS in order to focus on other responsibilities within the organisation. He had led the business development team since September 2007.
Macdonald will continue to serve as head of marketing for UMBFS and as president of the company’s alternative investment servicing division, JD Clark & Company. In addition, he will be focusing on developing and implementing a suite of middle-office services to be offered to clients.
