Arma Partners acted as the exclusive financial adviser to Butterfly Software, a privately held data analysis and migration software company headquartered in Maidenhead, UK, on its sale to International Business Machines.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Butterfly will become part of IBM’s software group.
Butterfly offers storage planning software and storage migration tools, helping customers save storage space, operational time, IT budget and power consumption. IBM will use Butterfly to help clients find new ways to drive greater value from its storage software and hardware solutions.
EnBW Erneuerbare Energien has acquired a wind farm with eight turbines and total output of 16 MW from Ventotec (Leer).
The wind farm is located in Neuruppin-Dabergotz in the Federal State of Brandenburg.
A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Jochen Lamb advised EnBW on all aspects of the transaction.
At the end of 2011, EnBW acquired the Christinendorf III wind farm from Ventotec with the support of the same team.

UV technologies are used in numerous end markets, including printing, packaging, electronics and construction.

Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of Walbro Engine Management, a global small engine parts manufacturer, from Sun Capital Partners.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Equity for the investment comes from Carlyle Japan Partners II.
Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, Walbro is the world’s largest manufacturer of carburettors and a major manufacturer of fuel and air management components mainly targeted at the outdoor power equipment industry.
