AXA Private Equity, a leading European diversified private equity firm, and international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, have signed an agreement to acquire a majority 66% stake in Limacorporate SpA. The existing management of Limacorporate SpA will reinvest in the remaining 34% capital. Limacorporate SpA, founded by the Lualdi family in 1975, is a global leader in the design, production and distribution of orthopaedic devices. The Group has 600 employers and three production facilities in Italy. In 2011 it had revenues of 117 million euros, 66% of which was generated in markets outside of Italy. Mourant Ozannes has opened an office in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) in response to demand from clients and intermediaries for BVI legal services. The new BVI office opens with three partners and will focus initially on corporate, international finance, investment funds, investment business regulation, insolvency and litigation services.

 Michael Williams, who specialises in corporate, banking and finance work and is described by clients in the Legal 500 directory as "extremely thorough and very responsive”, is relocating to the BVI to oversee the establishment of the office as Managing Partner.

SimpliVity, a provider of simplified software defined data centre in a box solutions, has secured USD25m in series B funding led by Silicon Valley-based Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB). Kleinwort Benson Group (KBG), the wholly owned subsidiary of financial services group RHJ International (RHJI), has reached agreement with Deutsche Bank to acquire BHF-BANK, a German private bank. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
