Orrick Rambaud Martel is advising RCS Mediagroup, a European press and publishing company, in relation to the sale of its subsidiary Flammarion, which is led by Teresa Cremisi.
RCS Mediagroup accepted the EUR251m offer received from Gallimard to buy 100 per cent of RCS Livres, the parent company of Groupe Flammarion, which is the fourth largest publishing group in France.
Groupe Flammarion includes other major publishing companies such as Autrement, J’ai lu or Casterman.
The alliance between Flammarion and Gallimard would create the third largest independent French publishing group.

Shareholders of luxury crystal firm Baccarat have approved private equity firm Catterton’s previously announced investment in the company.
The shareholders’ meeting also approved the appointment of two partners of Catterton, Michael Chu and Neda Daneshzadeh, as directors of Baccarat.

Law firm Loeb & Loeb has hired Allen Z. Sussman in its Los Angeles office as a partner in the capital markets and corporate practice groups.
He was previously a partner in the corporate and securities practice at Reed Smith in Los Angeles.
Sussman focuses his practice on corporate and securities transactions and counselling for clients ranging from newly formed start-up teams to mature public companies in a variety of industries, including healthcare, entertainment, technology and banking. He also represents private equity investors and activist shareholders in acquisition transactions and control contests.

Huron Capital has sold its interest in Labstat International ULC through its holding company, Apex Laboratories International, in a transaction that returned over six times its original investment.
Apex was recapitalized by Alaris Royalty, a Canadian private investment firm, and Labstat management.
Huron’s 2006 investment in Labstat and Apex was made through its second fund, The Huron Fund II, a USD185,000,000 fund closed in 2005.
KPMG Corporate Finance advised Labstat on the transaction and Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn served as counsel.

AXA Private Equity has sold the majority of Home Shopping Europe (HSE24), the TV home shopping group, to Providence Equity Partners.
After yesterday’s closing of the transaction, AXA Private Equity will remain a 15 per cent shareholder.
In 2009, AXA Private Equity acquired HSE24 in an all-equity transaction from the insolvent Arcandor group. Under AXA Private Equity’s ownership, the multi-channel retailer continued its growth path with net sales growing by more than 10 per cent per annum and the number of employees rising significantly.

DCG in Jersey has appointed Paul Perris to a senior role designed to help further develop the firm’s funds business and to expand its service capabilities globally.
Perris (pictured) has more than 20 years’ experience in the establishment and administration of a wide range of multi jurisdictional corporate, real estate and private wealth structures for global funds, institutions and ultra high net worth individuals.
He joins DCG from Ogier, the offshore law firm and fiduciary group where he was a partner and group director.

Falcon, an entity controlled by funds managed or advised by Mid Europa Partners, which holds a 39.2 per cent stake in T-Mobile Czech Republic (TMCZ), has completed the syndication of an additional CZK875m (approximately EUR35m) of its senior facility to Volksbank.
This increases total commitments under the facility to CZK10bn (approximately EUR400m). Net proceeds will be distributed to Falcon’s shareholders.

Daniel Hales has joined the iCON team as director of finance, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the financial and operational management of iCON and its associated funds.
