Altor Fund II has signed an agreement to sell a majority stake in Helly Hansen Group to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (OTPP) and will retain 25 per cent ownership.
Headquartered in Norway, Helly Hansen designs, develops and markets high performance technical apparel.
Helly Hansen currently operates three divisions: sport wholesale, sport retail and workwear. In 2011 the company had revenues of NOK1,576m.

Darden Restaurants has agreed to acquire Yard House USA for USD585m in an all-cash transaction from private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners, management and investors.
The total transaction price of USD585m includes approximately USD30m of cash tax benefits that are expected to be realised by Darden in fiscal 2013 and fiscal 2014.
The brand will become part of Darden’s Specialty Restaurant Group, which includes The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52 and Eddie V’s. Gresham-backed James Grant Group, a provider of management and professional services to the media, music and sports sectors, has acquired Industry Media, a business affairs consultancy for the television industry.
This is the ninth acquisition completed by JGG since Gresham backed its management buyout in August 2009.

The Aureos Latin America Fund (ALAF) has acquired a significant stake in the Peruvian restaurant business, Acurio Restaurantes.
This investment is ALAF’s 12th investment in Latin America and its third in Peru.
ALAF is managed by a subsidiary of Aureos Capital, a small and mid-cap private equity fund manager specialising in global growth markets.

Francisco Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Kewill, a trade and logistics software provider.
This deal represents Francisco Partners’ sixth take-private transaction in Europe since the beginning of 2009.

Avolon, an aircraft leasing company, has committed to purchase 30 new narrowbody Boeing aircraft, bringing Avolon’s committed fleet to 135 aircraft.
Avolon has committed to purchase 10 737 MAX 8s and 5 737 MAX 9s, as well as 10 Next-Generation 737-800s with reconfirmation rights for 5 737 MAX airplanes.
The commitment has a list-price value of USD2.3bn.
Avolon invests exclusively in modern fuel-efficient aircraft which demonstrate the strongest long-term value retention characteristics. Avolon currently has a committed fleet of 135 aircraft and the youngest large lessor fleet in the world.
