Graphite Capital, a UK mid-market private equity specialist, has agreed to back the management buyout of Digital Space from Horizon Capital. Terms of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, have not been disclosed. Digital Space provides an integrated connectivity, security and hybrid cloud managed service, underpinned by its own datacentres, core network and network operations centre. The company works with organisations looking to improve their operational workflow and accelerate growth through digital transformation.   Digital Space’s services are aimed at medium to large corporations as well as public sector and not-for-profit bodies with 500 to 5,000 staff. The
UK mid-market private equity firm LDC has added two to its North East and Scotland team with the appointment of Aaron Lawson-Clark as an Investment Director and Emma Borrie as an Investment Manager. With more than 15 years’ experience across private equity and corporate banking, Lawson-Clark has spent his career supporting the growth of scale-up to mid-sized businesses across all sectors of the economy. He joins from Mercia Asset Management, and was formerly at NVM Private Equity, where he led multiple transactions across the UK and joined the board of a portfolio of scale-up businesses to support their growth.   
Flashpoint Venture Capital, an international technology investment firm that manages equity and debt funds focused on US and international tech start-ups originating in emerging Europe and Israel, has opened a new office in New York.  The office opening will provide a focal point for Flashpoint’s activities as it seeks to increase its on-the-ground presence in the US. Currently, approximately 50% of Flashpoint’s portfolio revenue is generated in the United States and, approximately 25% of capital raised in its latest funds has been sourced from the Americas. New York-based investment company KKR & Co Inc (KKR) has acquired 30% of the shares of Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor. The agreed sales price represents an enterprise value for the Norwegian fibre business of NOK36.1 billion (GBP300 million).

Brian Sheth, the former president of Vista Equity Partners, is targeting a $3 billion fundraise for a new software-focused private equity fund, the second from his new firm Haveli Investments, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites unnamed sources as revealing that formal fundraising for the new vehicle, a follow-up to the Texas-based firm’s Haveli VC Gaming Fund I, hasn’t stated yet, but early-stage discussions with prospective investors are underway. GP Bullhound has participated in a £93m Series C fundraising in Connex One, a cloud-based Customer Engagement Platform. The investment, made from GP Bullhound’s Fund V, will enable the company to continue to scale its global operations and further establish its position as a market leader. Founded in Manchester in 2013 by brothers Nick Mealey and Richard Mealey, Connex One has developed an AI-powered customer engagement platform that provides omnichannel communication and business automation. MidOcean Energy, a portfolio company of private equity investor EIF, has acquired interests in four liquid natural gas (LNG) projects in Australia from Tokyo Gas Co Ltd for a combined $2.2 billion, according to a report by MarketWatch. The deal, which marks the launch MidOcean’s strategy to construct a diversified, global pure-play, integrated LNG company, includes ownership stakes in Gorgon LNG, Ichthys LNG, Pluto LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. Brookfield Asset Management is to acquire a significant minority interest in independent publisher Primary Wave Music in a deal valued in excess of $2 billion, according to a report by PE Insights. 
Andera Partners’ specialist therapeutics and medical technologies asset management company, Andera Life Sciences, closed its BioDiscovery 6 fund with €456 million in capital commitments. Existing institutional investors of the BioDiscovery funds have chosen to support the new vehicle along with new subscribers, including funds of funds, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, private investors and pharmaceutical companies.
