Q-Bot, a UK developer of robots for use in the construction and retrofit industry, has successfully closed a £1.6m investment led by EMV Capital, to fund the next stage of its growth. Parent company NetScientific PLC and other existing investors also participated in the round. Private equity fund managers are pushing back on plans to increase the amount of financial information they are disclosing, according to research by Private Equity Wire.
Partners Capital Investment Group has appointed Christoph Günther and Dr Michael Viehs as head of public equities and global head of sustainable investing, respectively. Partners Capital is a global outsourced investment office with $48 billion in client assets under management.   Günther, based in New York, succeeds by Alex Band, who now serves as co-chief investment officer of Partners Capital alongside Suzanne Streeter.  Viehs meanwhile will report directly to Arjun Raghavan, the firm’s chief executive officer.
MidOcean Partners (MidOcean), a New York-based alternative asset manager specialising in middle-market private equity and alternative credit investments, has made two senior hires. Marshall Phelps will be joining the firm as a managing director and partner within MidOcean Private Equity focusing on the firm’s Business Services vertical, and Jim Henderson has joined as a managing director on the Investor Relations team. The hiring of Phelps and Henderson follows the addition of Erik Oken, former global chairman of investment banking at JP Morgan, to MidOcean Private Equity as Chairman earlier this month, and is further validation of MidOcean’s dedication to deepening
Broad Sky Partners (Broad Sky), a private equity firm that partners with leading middle market business services and consumer companies, has appointed Amy Margolis as managing director and head of business development. Margolis will focus on new deal origination and add-on acquisition sourcing, as well as oversee Broad Sky’s banking and other transaction intermediary relationships.    Broad Sky has also promoted chief operating officer Heidi Vanhamme to managing director. 
Logistics payments and data infrastructure platform PayCargo has secured a new investment of up to $130 million from funds managed by Blackstone Growth (BXG). BXG’s investment will support the company’s continued expansion both domestically and internationally, development of new products, as well as potential growth opportunities through M&A. Blackstone, through its private equity, infrastructure, and real estate businesses, has invested significantly in the broader logistics, supply chain, and e-commerce space, including acquiring a leading port operator in North America and over 1.1 billion sq ft of warehouse assets globally.
Third Rock Ventures has held the closing of Third Rock Ventures Fund VI, with $1.1 billion in capital commitments. Fund VI will continue Third Rock’s core strategy to discover, launch and build new groundbreaking companies focused on improving the lives of patients.  Third Rock employs a hands-on approach to partnering with founders to build companies and provides early and rigorous integration of science, medicine, business and strategy to build successful companies. To date, Third Rock has raised $3.8 billion and its funds have invested in 60 companies.
Private equity investor The Riverside Company has acquired a majority stake in Montel AS (Montel), a founder and manager owned, Norwegian provider of energy and electricity market information. Montel, headquartered in Oslo, is a niche market leader with an international footprint, providing energy and electricity market information for energy producers, grid operators, financial institutions, trading firms and industrial end-users. The company’s services are primarily delivered through its proprietary Montel Online platform on a subscription basis, covering energy market news and real-time and historical trading data. Closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Inovia Capital has raised $325 million for its fifth early-stage fund. The fund, which saw strong support from existing and new investors, will back tech-focused companies in their aspiration to become category leaders.  The closing brings Inovia’s total capital under management to $2.2 billion.
Global Blue Group Holding has completed an investment agreement with CK Opportunities Wolverine (CK Opportunities), an investment fund co-managed by Certares Opportunities LLC (Certares), a global travel, tourism and hospitality investment firm, and Knighthead Opportunities Capital Management (Knighthead), a credit investment management firm. Under the terms of the agreement, CK Opportunities has agreed to invest $225 million, of which $180 million is for Series B preferred shares and $45 million is for common shares.  Global Blue intends to use the funds to continue pursuing strategic add-on acquisitions.
