Private equity firm PAI Partners (PAI) has appointed Winston Song as Partner. Song will lead PAI’s consumer activities in North America. He is based in New York, and joins as the firm expands its US presence and builds on its history and expertise in the consumer sector. Song’s career spans nearly two decades. He joins from Vestar Capital Partners, where he was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Head of Consumer. Previously, Song was at Lehman Brothers and CSFB Private Equity. Throughout his career, Song has been responsible for the sourcing, closing and managing of investments, primarily in the consumer,
DWS has added Dr Peter Brodehser to its infrastructure investment team with immediate effect. Brodehser, most recently Head of Infrastructure Investments at Talanx subsidiary Ampega, will build up and lead an infrastructure investment team based in Frankfurt as DWS expands and strengthens its activities in Germany and on the European continent.  The German team will focus on investments in the field of renewable energies and other investments in infrastructure utility services. The aim is to broaden DWS’s range of European infrastructure investments and make them accessible to a larger group of investors.     Brodehser has more than 20 years
Coolbrook, a transformational technology and engineering company, has appointed Anders Borg as a Member of the Board. Borg spent almost a decade at leading global investment firm, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), where he was a Managing Director responsible for the Nordics and eCommerce investment in Europe.  In his role as a Board Member at Coolbrook, he will advise on financing as the company prepares its technology for commercial deployment by 2024.    Borg is a seasoned investor, entrepreneur and engineer who brings more than twenty years of experience in impact, ESG, and technology. Cohere Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm focused on investing in technology and tech-enabled services middle market companies, has promoted Mike Alberts to principal and Reid Glaser to vice president, and appointed Rich Boghosian as a principal. Alberts joined Cohere in Summer 2019, at the firm’s inception and has contributed to its growth and development in many ways, including investment sourcing, new investment analysis, and firm marketing. Prior to Cohere, he worked in a variety of operational, private equity and investment banking roles. Octopus Investments, part of Octopus Group, has appointed Caroline Turner as Global Head of Institutional Sales and Consultant Relations. Turner will be responsible for leading the institutional sales function, supporting its strategy and the team as it continues to expand its offering to global institutional investors. Based in London, Turner will manage Octopus’ growing institutional sales business, strengthening the relationship between the institutional distribution team and investment function, as well as focusing on partnerships with investment consultants. She will report into Jennifer Ockwell, Global Head of Institutional.   Turner joins Octopus following a 15-year career at Willis Towers Watson (WTW)
Sixpoint Partners (Sixpoint), a global investment bank serving the middle-market private equity industry, has promoted Ignacio Martín-Chocano to Managing Director and Vincent Molinari to Director. Martín-Chocano joined Sixpoint in 2016 and in 2020 opened its London office, where he focuses on the distribution and origination of fund opportunities in the UK and Western Europe. He previously worked in the Global Structured Solutions group at Citigroup, executing debt private placement transactions globally across the consumer, real estate, healthcare, and energy industries. Molinari joined Sixpoint Partners in 2021, bolstering the firm’s coverage of institutional investors in New York and New England. He
Munich Private Equity Partners (MPEP) is expanding its business development capabilities with the appointment of Sebastian Schwarzenegger as Co-Head of Business Development.  Schwarzenegger is responsible for acquiring and servicing institutional clients and sales partners with focus on the DACH region. In this position, Schwarzenegger will also contribute to the ongoing further development of MPEP’s institutional sales strategy.    Before joining Munich Private Equity Partners, Schwarzenegger was Executive Director at Edmond de Rothschild and responsible for servicing German and Austrian investors, ie private and commercial banks, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices and wealth managers. Kantar Public has appointed Eric Salama as its Global Chair. The appointment follows the announcement on 1 September 2022, that Kantar Public is now a standalone, and fully purpose-led global evidence and advisory business, following its divestment from Kantar and sale to private equity firm Trilantic Europe. Salama knows the Kantar Public business intimately, given his 18-year history as the Global CEO of Kantar, where he grew the business from the ground up into an operation turning over $4bn in annual revenues. Bregal Partners (Bregal), a private equity firm specialising in investments in consumer and multi-unit, food and beverage, and business services, has added three key hires to its team – Thomas Perkins as Managing Director of Portfolio Services, Kaitlin Sasson joins as Principal, and Daniel Ayeroff as Vice President. Perkins will be responsible for building out resources to support portfolio company management teams.
