Quantum Energy Partners (Quantum), a provider of capital to the global energy and energy transition industry, has appointed Heriberto (Heri) Diarte as a partner of Quantum Innovation Fund. Formed in 2017, Quantum Innovation Fund invests in transformative companies focused on climate technology, decarbonisation and sustainability. Thoma Bravo is expanding its presence internationally with the opening of an office in London. The new office will complement the firm’s existing offices in San Francisco, Chicago and Miami, each of which have recently experienced significant growth. As part of this expansion, Irina Hemmers will join Thoma Bravo as a Partner to lead and grow the London office and help deepen the firm’s presence across Europe. HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) has appointed Victoria Sharpe as Head of Real Assets, and Scott McClurg as Head of Private Credit for its alternatives division, HSBC Alternatives. Sharpe will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the real assets proposition which today consists of Direct Real Estate teams and Listed Infrastructure Equity teams. She will assume the role from Joanna Munro, who has been acting Head of Real Assets, in addition to her role as CEO, HSBC Alternatives. Macquarie Asset Management has appointed Peter Glaser as Global Head of its Private Credit and Asset Finance team. The firm’s private credit offering spans solutions for clients across infrastructure, real estate, and structured credit, with $11.4 billion of assets under management. Macquarie Asset Management also invests in movable transportation assets via its $1.7 billion asset finance business, leasing aircraft, rotorcraft, and rail assets. Glaser brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Macquarie, joining in London from Alcentra where he served as Head of European Direct Lending and Portfolio Manager for Alcentra’s European Direct Lending Funds, responsible for ~$10 billion in
IFM Investors, a global investment manager owned by Australian pension funds, has appointed Luba Nikulina as its inaugural chief strategy officer to lead the development of IFM’s global strategy with a focus on private markets solutions. Based in London and joining the global executive team, Nikulina, who has over 25 years of investment industry experience, joins from WTW (previously known as Willis Towers Watson), where she was Global Head of Research, advising some of the world’s largest asset owners on strategy, governance and investments, managing a team of over 100 analysts. Fund administrator Saltgate SA has appointed Jean-François Flamant to its board in Luxembourg. Flamont joined Saltgate as its head of depositary last year. He has over two decades’ experience in financial services and oversees Saltgate’s depositary servicing for fund managers to help drive the firm’s client service.   Flamont joined Saltgate from TMF Group, where he was head of depositary services. He also spent 20 years as an alternative funds specialist at ABN Amro and BGL BNP Paribas. Saltgate launched in 2007 to provide fund administration and accounting services for private equity, debt, and real estate asset classes.
