Tonka Bay Equity Partners (Tonka Bay) has appointed Shawn Cappello as a director. In this role, Cappello will assist in the execution of the firm’s overall investment activities. Prior to joining Tonka Bay, Cappello was a senior director of corporate development at Albertsons Companies Inc, a national grocery retailer. Previously, he was a vice president at Cerberus Capital Management, an operationally-focused private equity firm. While at Cerberus, Cappello was responsible for all aspects of the private equity investment lifecycle, including buy side and sell side deal execution, and portfolio management.   Before Cerberus, Cappello worked at Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking
HCI Equity Partners (HCI), a leading lower middle market private equity firm that partners with founder-owned distribution, manufacturing and B2B service companies, has promoted Lisa Costello to tiger newly-created position of chief administrative officer (CAO), and Amy Stremmel to chief financial officer (CFO). Costello joined HCI in 2004 and will continue to serve as the firm’s chief compliance officer. As CAO, she will lead HCI’s administrative and compliance operations and play a key leadership role within the firm. Blackstone (NYSE: BX) has expanded the footprint of its Corporate Private Equity business through a new team based in San Francisco – building on the firm’s existing strong presence in its San Francisco office across its other business units. Sachin Bavishi, a senior managing director, will relocate to San Francisco to lead and establish Blackstone Private Equity’s West Coast presence, along with other existing and new team members. Grisham is based in Colorado and will join Kira Noodleman, Partner, in the Denver based office. Grisham is a two-time founder, initially establishing a boutique agency in 2016 focused on storytelling, content creation and brand strategy. Next, he founded an agricultural startup based in Rwanda working to integrate sustainable agriculture and grow supply chains for larger consumer brands in the US for makeup, food production and other consumables.
