Barings has appointed Ken Griffin as the firm’s Head of Insurance Solutions, effective immediately. Griffin will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of customised solutions to meet the needs of Barings’ insurance clients globally.
With a total insurance AUM of $223.3 billion, the Barings Global Insurance Solutions team harnesses a range of tools and resources across insurance portfolio management, risk management, quantitative solutions, and regulatory accounting to create client-specific solutions. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Griffin will report to Gordon.

Liquidnet, a technology-driven agency execution specialist, has appointed Nichola Hunter as Global Head of Sales for Fixed Income. In rapidly evolving markets, Hunter will be responsible for growing client relationships through the delivery of tailored and innovative solutions.
Based in London, she reports directly to Liquidnet’s Global Head of Fixed Income, Mark Russell.

Star Mountain Capital has appointed Jack Le Roy, the former head of global software investor Thoma Bravo’s credit division, as a managing director.
Le Roy joined Thoma Bravo in 2017 to launch the credit business, having spent seven years at Summit Partners and the previous four at Guggenheim Partners.
Star Mountain currently manages more than $3 billion in assets, focused on the North American lower mid-market. Last August the company haled the final close of its latest SIBC fund targeting the US lower mid-market sector with more than $290 million in capital commitments.
Connection Capital, a specialist private client investment business, has hired Peter Knight as Head of its new co-investments team. Knight joins from Legal & General Capital where he worked as a Senior Investment Manager, covering private equity, private debt, housing and infrastructure transactions.
Prior to that he worked within the asset management division, managing strategic asset allocation and objective-driven funds for a range of client types before transitioning into the private assets division. He graduated from Durham University with a degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder.

CIFC Asset Management (CIFC), an alternative credit specialist serving institutional investors globally with approximately $40 billion in assets under management, has strengthened its legal and compliance team with two senior appointments.
Asha Richards, who has served as CIFC’s deputy general counsel and in other legal related capacities since 2015, has been promoted to General Counsel, while Lily Wicker, former chief compliance officer and associate general counsel at Sound Point Capital Management, has joined CIFC as managing director, chief compliance officer and associate general counsel.

Former Coinbase and Bakkt executive Adam White has been appointed as an advisor by Blackstone as the world’s largest alternative asset manager looks to boost its digital assets investment business.
White brings a breadth of experience as a senior leader and entrepreneur in the crypto and blockchain technology space and will advise across Blackstone’s businesses, with an emphasis on Blackstone Growth (BXG), the firm’s growth equity investing platform.

AE Industrial Partners (AEI), a private equity firm specialising in aerospace, defence & government services, space, power & utility services, and specialty industrial markets, has appointed Marc Duvall, a seasoned executive with decades of operating experience throughout the aerospace supply chain, as an operating partner, effective immediately.
Duvall brings more than 40 years of experience with leading aerospace OEMs, having most recently served as President of the Aerostructures division of Collins Aerospace/Raytheon Technologies (formerly Goodrich Aerostructures), which designs, manufactures and services aircraft engine nacelles, thrust reverser systems and aircraft structural components.
