Global investment firm Carlyle has appointed David McCann has interim global head of investor relations, effective 10 August, 2022, succeeding Nathan Urquhart who has decided to leave the firm to pursue new opportunities. Urqhart will remain at Carlyle until the end of 2022, working with senior leadership to ensure a smooth transition.    McCann, with more than three decades of experience in investment management, joined Carlyle in 2014 and is responsible for building partnerships with our largest LPs across North America.    Prior to joining Carlyle, McCann was Head of Asset Management Distribution for Credit Suisse Securities (Canada) Inc. Previously,
 Tristone Healthcare, a buy and build social care investment group, has added to its senior leadership team with the appointment of John McCooey as Commercial Director. McCooey, who joins from Amelia Knight Group, has more than 25 years’ experience in finance and commercial director level positions, with particular expertise in operational and strategic financial management, improving profitability and business efficiencies, together with acquisition, divestment, and business integration. Permira, a global private equity firm, has appointed Koen Köppen as a Senior Adviser to its global technology team, with a focus on software and fintech. Koen is currently Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Mollie, a digital payment service provider.  At Mollie, Köppen is responsible for the reliability, scalability and development of the company’s technology platforms. Prior to joining Mollie, he spent over a decade at Klarna, where he held several leadership positions before becoming its CTO in 2017. Highview Capital (Highview), a Los Angeles-based middle-market private equity firm, has promoted Victor Bunce to vice president and added three additional professionals tom its team. Krysty Penwell and Scott Kingsley have joined as vice presidents and Christian Boorom has joined as an associate. Bunce joined Highview in July 2020 and works across a variety of existing portfolio companies including GS Foods, Randall Foods and Watterson. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Watterson. Prior to joining Highview, Victor worked at Harris Williams, a middle market investment bank. Balderton Capital has appointed Elodie Broad, an experienced leader in corporate sustainability and sustainable finance, as its first head of impact and sustainable future goals (SFGs).  The appointment follows the publication of Balderton’s inaugural SFG report in December 2021. The report introduced Balderton’s ten SFGs – which were modelled on and inspired by the UN SDGs – to capture the firm’s imperatives and ambitions across a range of sustainability-related topics including climate change, gender equality, and economic integration. The report provided an initial OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) assessment along Balderton’s three impact axes: its internal operations, its investment decision

Connection Capital, the private client investment business, has hired James Greenwood into its SME Investment team as appetite from private investors for access to UK private equity and debt transactions continues to grow. Greenwood joins from Liberum Capital where he worked on a wide range of transactions across both public and private markets. Prior to that he worked for Panmure Gordon. At Connection Capital, James will be responsible for sourcing and executing prospective transactions and managing portfolio companies.
