Experienced corporate banker Glenn Clarke has joined corporate finance firm Clearwater International’s growing team as a Debt Advisory Director within their Manchester office.
Clarke joins Clearwater from Barclays where he was a Director in the Debt Finance team and headed up the team within the North West.
Clarke’s appointment comes as Clearwater’s Debt Advisory team sees increased levels of activity and demand for its services, having completed more than 30 deals so far in 2018 working with over 20 different funders. Commonfund Capital, the private capital subsidiary of Commonfund, has appointed Jay Teevan as Managing Director of Consultant Relations.
Teevan’s focus will be working with the investment consulting and advisory community on Commonfund Capital’s suite of investment programs in private equity, venture capital, private natural resources, secondaries and co-investments.
Teevan has two decades of consultant relations, institutional sales and direct investment experience, including most recently at Artisan Partners and Strategic Value Partners. She has a Bachelors from Trinity College, Dublin and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.

RPMI Railpen (Railpen), the investment manager for the GBP28 billion Railways Pension Scheme, has appointed Andrea Ash as Investment Director in the Private Markets team, with effect from 26 November 2018.
Reporting to Paul Bishop, Railpen’s Head of Private Markets, Andrea will work alongside Richard Moon, Investment Director, and will be primarily focussed on growth investments.
She joins Railpen from Tesco Pension Investments, where she held the position of Alternatives Fund Manager, having previously held roles at Amundi Asset Management and Pioneer Investments.

Varagon Capital Partners has appointed Michael Broderick as Managing Director of Healthcare Originations.
In this role, Broderick will be responsible for originating and structuring transactions for middle market private equity firms in the Healthcare sector. Previously, Broderick originated debt, equity co-investments and banking opportunities with Capital One’s private equity clients. Broderick will be based in New York and report to Steve Warden, Partner and Head of Healthcare at Varagon.

The Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) has increased its presence in North America with the appointment of new North American Committee members.
The new members include Bradley Belt, Vice Chairman of Orchard Global Asset Management, Marcus Frampton, CIO of Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and Priti Singh, Head of External Portfolio Management at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). The SBAI is the global standard-setting body for the alternative investment industry, supported by approximately 200 alternative investment managers and institutional investors who collectively manage USD3.5 trillion.

Law firm Paul Hastings has appointed Ira Kustin, an established asset management lawyer, concentrating in the representation of private funds, as a partner in the firm’s Investment Management practice in New York.

Silverfleet Capital, a Pan-European mid-market private equity firm, has announced its succession strategy in preparation for the next phase of its growth.
Neil MacDougall, the Firm’s current Managing Partner will assume the position of Chairman of Silverfleet effective 1 April 2019. In this role, Neil will hand over management responsibility to Gareth Whiley but will continue on the Investment Committee of existing funds and provide senior support to Silverfleet’s five European offices.
Gareth Whiley will become the Firm’s Managing Partner on 1 April, 2019. In his new role, Whiley will assume overall responsibility for the management of the Firm.
INKEF Capital (INKEF), a Dutch venture capital fund focused on technology and healthcare, has appointed Roel Bulthuis as Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Team. He will co-manage the INKEF fund alongside Robert Jan Galema, Head of Technology Team.
Roel Bulthuis joins INKEF from M Ventures, where he established and led Merck KGaA’s corporate VC fund.
