HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has appointed James (Jamie) Athanasoulas as a Managing Director. Based in Boston, Athanasoulas (pictured), will join Managing Director, Peter Lipson, to help lead the continued growth of the firm’s private credit investment program and team.
The credit business leverages HarbourVest’s decades of experience and relationships with private equity general partners to offer tailored financing solutions. Accounting and advisory firm BPM has appointed James Su as Managing Director in the firm’s Real Estate Industry Group.
Su, who comes to BPM with more than 20 years of consulting experience in the real estate and construction industries and more than 15 years’ experience at the Big Four, will oversee the firm’s Cost Segregation Practice and advise on real estate tax and advisory projects.

Law firm Maples and Calder, which advises on the laws of the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Ireland and Jersey, has appointed seven new partners and three of counsel across its global offices.

Sapinda Holding (Sapinda) has appointed Pascal Perrier as the group chief executive (CEO) of La Perla, the global luxury fashion brand.
Perrier joins from Burberry Group plc and brings a wealth of sector experience after a 30-plus year career in the luxury fashion sector. He joined Burberry in 2005 as Executive Vice President of Business Development and was appointed Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific in 2009. In his 13-year tenure, Perrier played a key role in building the Burberry brand, with a market capitalisation in excess of USD 11 billion, with Asia Pacific being the largest business, fully integrated.
DWS has appointed Clarence Ng as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Alternatives Asia Pacific business, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for DWS China.
In these newly created positions, Ng will be responsible for managing the implementation of all financial and governance aspects of the Alternatives business across the APAC region, in addition to managing all operational aspects of DWS Shanghai. Based in Shanghai, Ng will report to Leon Williams, Chief Operating Officer Alternatives, Asia Pacific.

Finn O’Driscoll is to step down as chief executive of private equity-backed soft drinks manufacturer Clearly Drinks, following a period of exceptional growth at the Sunderland-based business.
Since joining the company in February 2016, Finn has overseen considerable expansion for Clearly Drinks. Bolstered by the signing of numerous major contracts with high street retailers and supermarkets, the company has seen double-digit turnover growth in each of the last two years, with the business now producing in excess of 85 million bottles per year.
Finn was also integral in helping the business secure investment from private equity house NorthEdge Capital
Mario R Masrieh has rejoined Gridiron Capital as a Vice President having completed his MBA at Columbia Business School.
Masrieh previously worked at Gridiron Capital as an Associate from 2014 to 2016 before pursuing his MBA. Masrieh has a strong finance and investment background including performing in-depth analysis and due diligence for prospective acquisitions and has participated in the structuring, negotiation, financing, and closing of portfolio investments.
