Coinsilium Group Limited, a financer of early-stage blockchain technology companies, has appointed Malcolm Burne as a project advisor to TerraStream, its Gibraltar-registered wholly-owned subsidiary, with immediate effect. Burne has a long-standing career in financial markets in the UK, Australia and Canada including directorships of a number of listed mining companies. He has led various successful natural resource ventures and has also built Ambrian Capital Plc into London’s premier natural resource broker at the time. Mercia Fund Managers has expanded its equity team with the appointment of Matt Molyneux as Investment Manager. A chartered accountant with 12 years’ experience in finance, Molyneux joins from BDO in Manchester, where he spent seven years in the transaction services team providing due diligence to private equity firms.   In his new role, he will be based at Mercia’s Manchester office as part of the EV Growth team, focused on investing in high-growth SMEs across the UK. Technology, media and communications global investment bank Drake Star Partners has hired two new partners to strengthen its US senior team in both its New York and San Francisco offices. Kevin Berry joins the firm’s San Francisco office as a Partner, Business Development. AMP Capital has appointed Malcolm Brown as a Senior Principal in its Global Infrastructure Equity business in London, marking the continued growth of its global real assets capability. Brown was formerly Chief Executive of Angel Trains, the UK’s largest rolling-stock company. AMP Capital manages a majority stake in Angel Trains on behalf of investors in its Global Infrastructure Equity strategy. Law firm Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has appointed Lisa Phelan as a partner in the firm’s Global Antitrust Law Practice and Investigations + White Collar Group based in Washington DC. For the last 16 years, Phelan has been Chief of the National Criminal Enforcement and Washington Criminal I Sections of the Antitrust Division at the US Department of Justice, after previously serving as a senior criminal litigator.

HSBC has strengthened its financial sponsors coverage with the appointment of Alexander Glawe as Managing Director, Head of Northern Europe Financial Sponsors. Glawe will join in December 2018 with responsibility for advising private equity clients in Germany, Austria and the Nordics. Glawe will also be responsible for the coverage of selected sponsors on a pan-European basis. He joins from Credit Suisse where he was most recently Managing Director, Head of Financial Sponsors Germany and Austria.
