Salveo Capital, an alternative investment firm specialising in the legalised cannabis space, has appointed Thomas Mazarakis as a Managing Partner.
Mazarakis will work alongside Managing Partners Michael Gruber and Jeffrey Howard in overseeing strategic direction and will be responsible for portfolio management as well as scaling the firm and its operations.
Mazarakis has over 18 years of financial and investment experience. Most recently he served as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in London where he was head of the Fundamental Strategies Group, a department of research analysts within the securities division’s multi-billion dollar equity and credit businesses. Located in New York, Kaplan is an experienced professional in middle market lending, private equity, and restructuring. He has over 16 years of experience in financing, acquiring, and advising middle-market businesses through leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, recapitalisations, and restructurings. He honed his collaborative approach to working with management teams and private equity sponsors while at Deloitte CRG, Hudson Capital Partners, Marathon Asset Management and Albion Investors.

Cotton Creek Capital, a Texas-based lower middle market private equity firm, has added Blake Tilley to its investment team as an Associate.
Prior to joining Cotton Creek Capital, Tilley was a Financial Analyst in the Global Industrials Group at Robert W Baird & Co, a wealth management, capital market, private equity and asset management firm headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During his tenure with Robert W Baird & Co, Tilley focused on mergers and acquisition transactions along with equity offerings across the industrial sector.

Aksia, a specialist research and portfolio advisory firm for hedge fund, private credit, and institutional investors, has appointed Ilya Riskin as a Senior Analyst in the firm’s Investment Research Team in New York.
Riskin (pictured), had been at Barclays for over 12 years, most recently as a Vice President in the Portfolio Management Group, where he was a fundamental credit research generalist and portfolio manager of an extensive bank debt book.

Offshore law firm Carey Olsen Bermuda has appointed Mary Ward as a partner in its corporate practice. Ward will join Carey Olsen Bermuda after 15 years at Conyers Dill & Pearman.
Prior to her arrival in Bermuda, Ward worked for international law firms Linklaters in New York and Slaughter and May in London. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994 and the Bermuda Bar in 2004.
Ward advises on all aspects of commercial and corporate law, with extensive experience in securities law, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring of private and public companies and private equity.
C5, an investment specialist firm investing into cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and cloud, has announced that it will continue to strengthen its management team with the appointment of Christopher Cooke as Managing Partner and Head of Investor Relations.

Offutt will join REPM’s USD4 billion Infrastructure platform to lead the US team and further develop its growing presence in the region.

Armstrong-Denby has over 18 years’ experience advising and investing in listed investment funds.
