Three experienced figures in the alternative investment industry have partnered to form a new licensed fiduciary services company in the Cayman Islands.
Independent investment manager Albion Capital has added three new recruits to its technology team as part of its strategic expansion in the sector.
Catriona McDonald and Nadine Torbey have joined the firm to help with tech investments from Albion’s VCT portfolios. Tanel Ozdemir has also joined the investment team at Albion Capital as an analyst on the UCL Technology Fund.
The hires support the evolution of Albion’s investment strategy towards a greater focus on growth and innovation, and will enable it to seek more opportunities in its specialisms, including data analytics, cybersecurity, digital health, automation and martech.

Lee spent the past 20 years as a senior financial executive in leading venture capital firms. Most recently, Lee was the Chief Financial Officer of Firelake Capital Management, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco investing in early stage energy and clean technology companies. Previously, she was the Controller of Walden International, a US based venture capital firm focused on cross-border investments that leverage global markets and talent to grow industry-leading companies.

Federico Bal graduated in law from University of Pavia and has been working in the corporate department of the firm since 2013, specialising in private equity, mergers and acquisitions.
Valentina Lattanzi graduated in law from Bocconi University and has been working in the firm’s banking & finance department since 2016, specialising in structured finance.

Adams Street Partners, a private markets investment management firm with more than USD32 billion of assets under management, has appointed Matthew H Scanlan to the firm’s Board of Directors, effective 1 April 2018.
Scanlan will succeed long-standing board member Wilbur (Bill) H Gantz, who announced his intention to retire from the Board earlier this year.

WestBridge Capital has appointed a new Investment Executive, chartered accountant Edward Minton.
Minton joins from WK Corporate Finance, where he specialised in supporting management teams to undertake buyouts, having previously worked at Terra Firma Capital Partners. At WestBridge he will join the investment team to originate and make new investments.

Independent fund administration specialist Circle Partners has expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of a new office in Singapore.
The office, which opened for business in February, is being managed by Gerben Oldekamp.
This latest addition to the offices Circle Partners already has in Europe, the Caribbean and the United States gives the company a physical presence in all major time zones around the globe.
