NorthEdge Capital, the private equity firm focused on investing in the North of England, has appointed PwC dealmaker Dan Matkin as Investment Manager.
Matkin spent eight years working at PwC within the company’s Corporate Finance and Assurance divisions. In his role as Assistant Director, Dan led a number of private equity transactions and during the last year oversaw the GBP150 million sale of Poundworld to TPG Capital, the GBP52 million sale of Nexus Rental to Bowmark Capital and the sale of energy solutions provider Mark Group to NYSE-listed Sun Edison.

Unigestion, the boutique asset manager that focuses on guiding its clients with risk-managed investment solutions, has appointed four new members to the Institutional Clients team to boost its specialist alternatives sales force.
David Chesner has been appointed as a director on the Institutional Clients Alternatives team, and will lead the sales strategy for Unigestion’s alternative investment solutions. David has a 15 year history working in private equity and hedge fund investing and joins from the global alternative asset manager, Duet Group, where he was responsible for client relationships and business development across Europe and Asia. Nuveen Investments, an operating division of TIAA Global Asset Management, has appointed Bill Stout as Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments Business Development.
In this newly-created role, Stout will be charged with helping the firm place new private funds onto the investment platforms of wealth managers who serve retail and high-net-worth investors, grow alternative investment distribution capabilities, and represent many of the investment strategies to clients on behalf of portfolio managers. Based in New York, Stout will report to Mike Perry, Managing Director, Head of Alternative Investments for Nuveen.

Inflexion Private Equity has appointed Josh Kaufman as Investment Director, and Henry Arundel and Fabrizia Rizzi as Investment Executives. They start with immediate effect.
Kaufman joins as an Investment Director in Inflexion’s Partnership Capital team. Previously Kaufman was a Director at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners where he completed numerous transactions, add-on acquisitions and refinancings in a range of diverse sectors and businesses. Prior to that, he was a Senior Associate at Leeds Equity Partners in New York.
Arundel and Rizzi will support transaction execution in Inflexion’s Buyout and Partnership Capital teams. Arundel joins from Evercore Partners, where he advised
YFM Equity Partners (YFM) has appointed Colin Granger as an Investment Director focusing on sourcing and completing new investments throughout the South of England. He will be based in London and brings to YFM his extensive experience across deal transaction.
With nearly nine years of industry experience, Granger joins YFM from Milestone Capital, where he focused on investing in growing businesses in the UK lower mid-market. Prior to joining Milestone Capital, he worked at PwC for five years where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and held several executive roles.

Miravast LLC, a Delaware based LLC, specialising in life contingent assets, has been launched by former senior members of the AIG life settlements team in 2012 with financial backing.

Infoteria Corporation’s CEO, Yoichiro “Pina” Hirano has joined the board of advisors of Fenox Venture Capital (Fenox).
Hirano founded Infoteria Corporation and took it public in 2007 at Tokyo Stock Exchange. He also recently became the Chairman of the Blockchain Collaborative Consortium (BCCC), Japan’s first blockchain industry organisation.

Miner has significant experience in a wide range of transactional matters, focusing on cross-border and domestic mergers, acquisitions and divestitures involving public and private companies in a wide range of industries, including life sciences, energy and manufacturing. His private equity practice focuses on acquisitions and dispositions, majority and minority investments, joint ventures and co-investment transactions. Schaich joined Riverside in 2013 and works out of the Munich office. Prior to joining Riverside, he was Vice President, Investment Banking at Berenberg Bank. Prior to that, he served as Associate, Investment Banking at Kepler Cheuvreux and Consultant, Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young.
