Ogier has appointed David Cooney and Bradley Kruger as Partners in the Cayman office and Michael Killourhy (pictured) as a Partner in the BVI office.
In addition, Partner Simon Schilder has joined the Jersey Funds team and five Senior Associates have been promoted to Managing Associate across the BVI, Cayman, Guernsey and Luxembourg offices.
David Cooney has been with Ogier since 2012 having moved from the UK, where he was previously a Partner at Gorvins. His practice focuses primarily on Private Clients and he also manages a number of key funds related clients and transactions.

Jim Dondero, Co-Founder and President of Highland Capital Management, has been named Senior Portfolio Manager of the firm's Energy MLP Fund, effective 1 February, 2015.
Dondero joins Jon Poglitsch, CFA and Matthew Gray, CFA as lead managers of the fund. Dondero, Poglitsch and Gray will be responsible for all of the investment decisions of the fund.

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre has appointed four new partners – Alexandre Delhaye, Caroline Froger-Michon, Frédéric Gerner and Claire Vannini.

Alexandre Delhaye, 40, joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre’s Corporate/M&A department in 2001 after working in the M&A department at Gide Loyrette Nouel. Law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton announced has appointed Peter Olds, former legal director at Actis, as counsel in the firms’ London office.
Olds joined Actis, a private equity firm investing exclusively in Africa, Asia and Latin America, in 2009. Peter was previously a senior associate in Clifford Chance’s Private Funds Group, where he specialised in private equity, real estate and infrastructure fundraising. Prior to that, he was a senior associate at Freehills in Sydney. Peter has a Bachelor of Law with first class honours and a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Maxim Crewe joined Cinven in 2006 and is a member of the Financial Services sector team. He has been involved in a number of transactions including Avolon, Guardian Financial Services and Partnership. Fund governance firm DMS Offshore Investment Services (DMS) has appointed Westley Chapman as a Director.
Chapman will serve on the boards of investment funds, providing independent oversight on governance and compliance matters. He will also function as Director, Operational Due Diligence and will be based in New York.
As even more investors continue increasing allocations to private funds, investors and managers are spending more time on operational due diligence reviews, plus facing evaluating even more investment opportunities with less available resources.

Evercore has appointed Jay Chandler as a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Equity Capital Markets Group based in New York.
Chandler was most recently Head of Capital Markets for Liquidnet, one of the world’s leading equity block trading networks. Prior to Liquidnet, he spent 26 years with Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
