Independent fund administrator Apex Fund Services has appointed Dennis Westley as Managing Director, North America with immediate effect. By leveraging Apex's ability to bring global fund structures to the US, Westley will have responsibility for growing Apex's North American operations and integrating potential acquisitions. Reporting directly to Apex's Global CEO, Bill Salus, Westley will also manage Apex's offices in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Toronto. Standard Life Investments, the Global Asset Manager, has made two new appointments to its Infrastructure Debt team. Alex Campbell joins as Investment Director for Infrastructure Debt and will be responsible for the sourcing, negotiation, preparation and review of infrastructure debt funding proposals. Based at St Mary Axe, London, Alex is an experienced originator and underwriter of long-dated capital market debt with expertise across a range of infrastructure assets both social and economic. He is also experienced in related asset classes such as utilities and real estate financings.  In addition, Marianne Froude has joined as Investment Analyst for the Infrastructure team.
Sidley Austin has further expanded its energy and M&A practices with the addition of partners Karen A Dewis, Kenneth W Irvin and Daryl L Rice in Washington, DC.  Irvin’s and Rice’s practices involve a broad cross-section of energy and commodities transactions, including energy trading and marketing, hedging and derivatives transactions, as well as the representation of clients in regulatory and investigation matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Dewis represents public and private clients in connection with complex M&A, joint venture, spin-off and other strategic transactions, with a particular focus on the energy/commodities, financial services and general industrial sectors.
Private equity and infrastructure firm First Reserve has appointed Alex T Krueger as Co-Chief Executive Officer and President. The move is part of the firm's long-term succession plan.   William E Macaulay, Chairman and now Co-CEO of First Reserve, remains fully dedicated to First Reserve's activities as he has since its founding in 1983. Millennium Trust Company, a provider of alternative asset custody solutions to institutions, advisors and individuals, has made two promotions within its Alternative Solutions Group.  The firm has named Jeremy Christensen, Director of Private Fund Custody and Matt Nitschke, National Director of the Alternative Solutions Group.
