bfinance has appointed two new advisory professionals. Alexandra Martinez joins as a Director and William Nicholson as an Associate, both in the UK and Ireland Client Coverage team.
Martinez has over 10 years of experience in financial services, most recently consulting for pension funds, family offices and corporate investors. Prior to joining bfinance in January 2015, Martinez was a partner at Arbour Partners, an investment advisory and placement firm and a partner of St James’s Place Wealth Management. Martinez started her career as a management consultant at PWC and worked in the UK, USA and South East Asia. Alexandra holds
Geneva-based alternative assets placement agent MCAM Group has appointed James Han as Managing Director for Asia, based in the firm’s new Hong Kong office.
Prior to joining MCAM, Han was Group Head of Private Placement Services at KTB Investment & Securities, one of South Korea’s largest independent investment banking and brokerage firms. Before that, he was a founding partner at Straight Wharf Capital Management, an Asian equity long/short hedge fund seeded by Julian Robertson’s Tiger Fund Management. Han’s career spans over twenty years and has included working for two leading US-based hedge funds including Balyasny Asset Management and Tiedemann Global
Private equity firm CenterOak Partners has added three senior members of staff: Jeff Moredock, Vice President; Megan Kneipp, Vice President for Business Development and Investor Relations; and Casey Gribble, Associate.

Private equity firm NGP Energy Capital Management (NGP), has appointed Jeffrey A Zlotky as General Counsel effective immediately.
Zlotky joins NGP from Thompson & Knight LLP, a global law firm with deep expertise in the energy industry, where he was a partner in their Corporate and Securities practice group, with an emphasis on energy finance and private equity. Zlotky has extensive experience in the structuring and organisation of private equity funds on behalf of sponsors and investors, the investment activities of such private equity funds, and mergers and acquisitions.

Landbay, the buy-to-let focused peer-to-peer mortgage lender, has appointed Julian Cork as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Cork will join co-founders John Goodall and Gray Stern in overseeing Landbay’s business operations as the business continues to grow rapidly.
Cork brings over 20 years of experience working in the investment banking sector. He began his career in the technology team of JPMorgan, before being promoted to Managing Director and Head of the Global Derivatives Services business. Squire Patton Boggs has promoted the firm’s Head of Private Equity (PE) and Venture Capital (VC) in Poland, Michał Karwacki, to Partner in the firm’s Warsaw office.
Karwacki has some 15 years of transactional experience, with a special focus on the private equity and VC sectors. Ares Management has appointed Michael R McFerran as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective 23 March, 2015. McFerran will assume firm-wide responsibilities.
McFerran was previously a Managing Director at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) where he served as the Chief Financial Officer of KKR’s credit business and was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of KKR Financial Holdings LLC (NYSE: KFN).
