Redbox founder and former CEO and former Coinstar President and COO Gregg Kaplan has joined Pritzker Group Private Capital as its operating partner for the services team. Kaplan will be based in Chicago, where he and investment partner David Rosen will lead the services investment and operations team. Rosen and Kaplan will source, invest in and oversee a group of services companies for Pritzker Group Private Capital. Private equity firm TA Associates has appointed Daisy Cai as a director in the firm’s Hong Kong office, where she will focus on investments in growth companies in China. Cai joined TA Associates from Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in Hong Kong where she has been leading deal sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio management for growth capital investments in the TMT, consumer and education sectors in Greater China. Dunedin, the UK mid-market private equity house, has expanded its investment team by hiring two new analysts. Sophie Chambers and Katie Chung will join the origination team, which focuses on identifying and assessing new investment opportunities.  These appointments follow Dunedin’s recent investment in construction dispute specialist Blackrock Programme Management, an opportunity that was sourced off-market via its origination team and circumvented any formal auction process.   Dunedin has also promoted Oliver Bevan to partner and Karan Darroch to finance and operations manager.  Oliver joined Dunedin in 2007 and has been instrumental in leading investment activity within the oil and gas

Boodle Hatfield has appointed Partner Simon Rylatt to head up its market leading Private Client and Tax team. The appointment takes place from 1 May 2015. TIAA-CREF has opened a new distribution office for TIAA-CREF Asset Management in Sydney, Australia, led by Andrew Kleinig, who will direct distribution strategy in Australia and Asia while providing a local point of contact for TIAA-CREF investment capabilities and products for existing clients in the region. Speaking ahead of the TIAA-CREF Asset Management Real Assets and Responsible Investing Roundtable in Sydney today, TIAA-CREF Asset Management’s head of business development, John Panagakis, said the new office was the next step in the firm’s eight-year history in the Australian market, which has to-date focused on agriculture, and more recently, real estate.
