GoldenTree Asset Management, an investment firm that manages alternative and traditional asset strategies for sophisticated institutional and high net-worth investors, has opened a Singapore office.
Shahriar Saadullah has been appointed as managing director to run business development in Asia Pacific. He reports to Kathy Sutherland, GoldenTree’s global business development head.
The Singapore office will initially focus exclusively on business development in permitted areas, although hiring investment professionals to operate from that location could be a future consideration.

Private equity firm Genstar Capital has appointed Harry Totonis to its strategic advisory board.
Totonis most recently served as president and CEO of Surescripts, an e-prescribing and clinical information exchange network, since 2009.
Prior to that, he was group executive at MasterCard Worldwide from 2004 to 2009 and from 2000 to 2004 he served as president and CEO of Kinexus. He began his professional career at Booz Allen & Hamilton.

Peak Rock Capital has appointed Ryan Fitch as a senior vice president of the firm, responsible for leading the business development group.
Fitch will work closely with the firm's leadership team to further develop Peak Rock's growing relationships.
Fitch previously spent nearly a decade as part of the business development team at Platinum Equity, where he was responsible for deal origination and managing strategic relationships with corporate sellers, investment banks and other intermediaries.

WHEB Partners, a private equity fund manager specialising in growth opportunities in energy and resource efficiency technology markets, has appointed Florian Strehle as its new Munich-based partner.
Strehle has eight years’ private equity experience, six of which were at AUCTUS Capital Partners, a German private equity fund manager where he was a member of the management board.
Before that he was at 3i Group where he was an associate in the firm’s technology investment team.
He also spent four years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Altium has appointed Oliver Vaughan as an assistant director in its London office.
He joins from Livingstone Partners where he was also an assistant director, having previously trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
Vaughan is an experienced M&A practitioner with broad experience across various sectors, particularly industrials.
The appointment of Vaughan is part of Altium’s continued expansion of its London presence in response to increasing market activity and deal flow. The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) has elected Anne Glover, chief executive and co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners, to serve as its chairman for the year to June 2015.
She succeeds the 2013-2014 chairman George Anson of HarbourVest Partners, who will become EVCA´s immediate past-chairman.

Quarton Partners, a middle market investment banking firm serving privately held and publicly traded companies as well as private equity firms, has hired Matt Schloop and Doug Shinkle.
Schloop joins Quarton as a director. He has over 14 years of middle market merger and acquisition experience across many industries, with a particular focus on industrial manufacturing, distribution and service businesses.
Prior to joining Quarton Partners, Schloop spent eight years with Pfingsten Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm. Schloop also held positions at Mesirow Financial and P&M Corporate Finance prior to joining Pfingsten.

Aldermore, a British bank backed by funds advised by private equity firm AnaCap Financial Partners, has appointed two non-executive directors to its board – John Hitchins and Cathy Turner.
Hitchins is a qualified accountant who brings 38 years of experience to the role, having spent his whole career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) becoming partner in 1988 and retiring in June 2014. He has specialised in bank auditing and advisory services throughout his career.

Media industry veteran Sandy Climan has joined the advisory board of Loton Corp.
Climan is a seasoned media and motion picture industry executive, talent agent and producer, who currently serves as president of Entertainment Media Ventures, a media investment and strategic advisory company.
From 2007 to 2010, Climan served as CEO of 3ality Digital. Previously, he was a member of the senior management team at Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As the founding head of CAA’s corporate practice, Climan helped guide Sony Corporation’s acquisition of Columbia Pictures, Matsushita Electric’s acquisition of MCA/Universal and Credit Lyonnais’ restructuring of MGM.
