Castle Harlan, the New York private equity investment firm, has promoted Tariq Osman to managing director. Osman’s (pictured) promotion reflects his multiple contributions to CHI over the last five years, as well as his prior five years of experience at CHI’s Australian affiliate, CHAMP. Recently, he has been particularly active in CHI’s investment activities in energy services and equipment businesses. Osman has been with Castle Harlan since 2008 and previously was a vice president. Wade will continue to work closely with institutional investors in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US, including public and corporate pension plans, endowments, foundations, financial institutions, fund-of-funds and family offices. Wade has over 15 years of experience in limited partner, general partner and third-party distribution roles during his alternative investment career. Split Rock Partners, a venture capital firm focused on software, internet services, and healthcare has promoted David Allison to principal in its Menlo Park office. Allison (pictured) has been with the firm since 2009 and has focused on investments in the healthcare sector. He will join managing directors Brian Clevinger, Greg Johnson and Ilya Nykin, who co-founded Prolog in 2000. Steuart (pictured) has more than 25 years of experience managing healthcare and technology companies and venture capital funds. He began his investing career at the pioneering venture capital firm Alafi Capital, where for a time he worked closely alongside Clevinger. Pan-emerging makers private equity firm Actis has appointed Sergio Brandao as a director focusing on energy opportunities in Latin America. Brandao (pictured) will be based in Actis’s São Paulo office, where the firm now has a team of 12 investment professionals focusing on the consumer, financial services and energy sectors.   Barndao joins Actis from Rio Bravo Investimentos where he was partner and co-fund manager.
