Global knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm The Smart Cube and London-based venture capital firm Smedvig Capital have appointed Gary Bullard as a non-executive director of The Smart Cube. Altius Associates has appointed Joachim Suter as a partner in its EMEA investor relations team. Suter will be based in the London office, joining the global IR team headed by Dr Eric Warner.   Suter joins Altius having been senior vice president private placement for Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA).  He focussed on Switzerland, Italy and Luxembourg, responsible for all unlisted solutions (primary, secondary funds and direct investments) in the region. Prior to this he had a business development focus on German institutional clients. Previously he held positions at Pimco Europe, UBS Asset Management and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Intervale Capital, an energy-focused private equity firm, has promoted David Nemeskal to principal.  Nemeskal (pictured) will be involved in deal sourcing and execution and portfolio company oversight. Managing partner Charles Cherington says: "Dave’s promotion reflects the tremendous value he brings to Intervale in multiple areas, including deal origination, deal execution and portfolio company management." Nemeskal joined Intervale in June 2011 as a vice president. In that position, he was involved in several transactions, and played a key role in Intervale’s recent investment in Aegis Chemical Solutions. Sergi brings nearly two decades of tax and legal experience on domestic and international tax matters. Myles Flint is to join law firm MW Cornish & Co as a partner with effect from 28 January 2013. Flint has vast experience in advising hedge, private equity and other alternative investment managers and funds and EU Ucits and other retail investment managers and funds.  Prior to his appointment at MW Cornish, Flint was acting head of legal at Cardano Risk Management BV (London office), a fund manager managing circa EUR20bn for institutional investors. He was also counsel at Appleby where he undertook a mixture of corporate and funds work.

Private equity and infrastructure investor Pantheon has appointed Andrea Echberg as partner and head of European infrastructure investments. Echberg, who is based in London, will be focusing on infrastructure secondary and co-investments as well as managing the primary infrastructure fund investments in Europe. Employee-owned financial services firm Baird has promoted Steve Booth to the role of chief operating officer. Booth (pictured) takes on the new role in addition to his current responsibilities as director of investment banking and co-head of Baird’s equity capital markets (ECM) business. The plan calls for Booth to eventually succeed Baird chairman, president and chief executive Paul Purcell. Like Purcell, Booth joined Baird in 1994. He has led its investment banking efforts and served as co-head of ECM since 2006.  Booth is also a member of Baird’s board of directors and executive committee and chairs the firm’s finance committee.  "The
