Private equity firm HIG Capital has appointed Mark Tricolli as a Manging Director with the firm’s growth capital investment affiliate, HIG Growth Partners.
Before joining HIG, Tricolli was a partner at Enhanced Equity Fund, a lower middle market private equity firm where he was responsible for investments in the healthcare industry. Previously he was with JW Childs where he focused on investments in the healthcare, consumer, retail and business service industries. He was on the board of a number of companies including Sheridan Healthcare, Equinox Fitness, Joseph Abboud and CHG Healthcare. Tricolli began his private equity career at William Blair
Genstar Capital, LLC, a middle market private equity firm that focuses on investments in the insurance and financial services, software, life sciences, healthcare, and industrial technology industries, has promoted Rob S Rutledge (pictured) and Anthony J Salewski to Principal. Both were previously Genstar Vice Presidents.

Longitude Capital, a life sciences venture capital firm, has appointed Gregory Grunberg, MD, as Managing Director in the Menlo Park, California office, effective immediately. At Longitude, Dr Grunberg will focus primarily on medical device company investments.

CDC Group plc (CDC), the UK’s development finance institution (DFI), has appointed Mark Pay as Managing Director, Direct Investments.
Pay’s career has primarily been in direct investing and has encompassed making, developing and exiting investments in Africa, India, the Americas, China and the UK. He left CDC in 2004 to join the newly created Actis LLP, the emerging markets fund manager that was spun out of CDC. He has been involved in more than a hundred investments in developing countries.

Private equity firm HIG Capital has opened a Madrid office and appointed Jaime Bergel as a Managing Director to lead its efforts in Spain.
HIG, through its HIG Europe affiliate, currently has a team of over 40 investment professionals based in Europe, operating out of offices in London, Paris, and Hamburg. In 2011, HIG Europe was one of the most active private equity investors in Europe, with eleven completed transactions.

GlobeOp Financial Services has appointed Tim Ridley to its Cayman Islands subsidiary board. Ridley, the former chairman of the Cayman Island Monetary Authority (CIMA) and a former senior partner of Maples and Calder, was appointed following the recent resignation of Gary Linford.

David Dorey (pictured), who joined the team as Head of Private Equity in January 2012, will be responsible for the client delivery on all existing and new private equity clients. DC Advisory Partners has appointed Andrew Strudwick as an Executive Director in its European Financial Sponsors Group. Strudwick will join Simon Tilley’s team, which provides a focal point for DC’s interaction with the private equity community. He will be based in London.
Strudwick’s last role was at 3i Group PLC (“3i”) where he had worked as an Investment Director since 2006. Andrew co-founded 3i’s UK TMT team and took a lead role on key transactions such as the GBP350m take-private of Civica plc, engaging on all aspects of the investment cycle. Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co has appointed Ali J Satvat as a Director based in Menlo Park. Satvat joins KKR from Apax Partners where he served as a Principal on the health care investment team and managed new investments and portfolio companies across various health care sub-sectors.
Satvat will join the more than 20 person global health care team that is led by Mike Michelson, Jim Momtazee and Dominic Murphy. The team is responsible for sourcing new opportunities and providing industry knowledge and expertise to KKR’s private equity transactions.

Hogan Lovells has recruited Xavier Doumen as a partner in the firm’s private equity practice in Paris. Doumen joined Hogan Lovells on 1 February 2012 from Willkie Farr & Gallagher where he worked on private equity and strategic M&A transactions.
Doumen joins the Hogan Lovells Global Private Equity practice, which has more than 190 lawyers in 14 countries.
