Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has appointed Arun Sarin as a senior adviser.
Sarin (pictured) is the former chief executive officer of mobile telecommunications company Vodafone and had previously been a senior adviser to KKR.

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has added nine senior professionals to its private equity performance improvement practice.
The announcement follows the recent hiring of eight professionals focused on private equity services in its transaction advisory and tax practices.

DN Capital, a media and technology growth capital and early stage investor, has appointed Tom Bradley as a principal.
Bradley has been active in the UK venture capital market for nine years and most recently was a partner with DFJ Esprit in London where he was a member of the founding team.
Bradley has been involved in investing in a variety of technology and communications businesses including LoveFilm.com, a provider of online DVD rentals and movie downloads. He also sourced and executed the buyout of NetEconomy, a provider of software for financial institutions subsequently sold to Fiserv.

Covington & Burling has appointed Fred Knecht as a partner in its corporate practice, focusing on capital markets and securities regulatory matters.
He will be resident in Covington’s New York office.
Knecht has nearly 20 years of in-house experience at preeminent investment banks, most recently at Merrill Lynch, where he was named managing director and general counsel for global origination and private equity in 2006.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Knecht spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, rising to managing director and head of investment banking legal for the Americas.

Acero Capital Management has appointed Ralph A. Shaoul as chief financial officer.
Shaoul joins Acero from Blavin where he spent five years serving in various capacities including chief financial officer, chief administrative officer and compliance officer.
Prior to Blavin, Shaoul spent four years with Gilbert Global Equity Partners as the controller and six years with Soros Fund Management as a senior accountant and operations manager.

Ounavarra Capital has appointed Laurence B. Siegel as a senior adviser.
Siegel (pictured) will continue as research director of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute.
He was most recently and since 1994, the director of research in the investment division of the Ford Foundation. He was part of a team of six senior professionals managing their USD10bn endowment fund, which is invested in stocks, bonds, real estate, private equity, and hedge funds.
Before that, he was a managing director of Ibbotson Associates, an investment consulting firm that he helped to establish in 1979.
Siegel also chairs the investment committee of
Graphite Capital, a UK mid-market private equity specialist, has added to its growing investment team with the appointment of Rachael Whittaker as investment manager.
Whittaker joins Graphite from pan-European private equity house Cognetas, where she was an investment associate focusing on healthcare and financial services.
She began her career as an associate with LEK Consulting in London and Sydney, working on private equity due diligence, post transactional strategy and modelling on projects across six industries.

Cross Atlantic Capital Partners has appointed William L. Rulon-Miller as partner and managing director.
In his new role, Rulon-Miller will work closely with the Cross Atlantic team in its management of the firm’s portfolio companies, investment evaluations, fund raising initiatives, as well as working with and providing guidance to the firm’s portfolio companies’ entrepreneurs and management teams.
Rulon-Miller brings over 33 years of investment banking experience to Cross Atlantic. Most recently he served at Janney Montgomery Scott in Philadelphia as co-head of the investment banking department.

The collective middle market commitments total over USD141m.
