Mark Wössner has been appointed principal senior adviser of Corestate, a Swiss private equity investor seated in Zug, Switzerland. He will counsel Corestate in the business areas of acquisition and restructuring of non-performing portfolios and loans.   “We are seeing a lot of portfolios who got into trouble due to misguided assumptions and poor management. Global private equity firm J.C. Flowers has strengthened its operations with two senior appointments to its London office.   Dr. David Morgan (pictured) has been appointed managing director, JCF Europe and Asia Pacific, and Sir Callum McCarthy has been appointed to the newly-created post of chairman, JCF Europe. Morgan, currently chairman of J.C. Flowers in Australia, will be responsible for JCF’s investment portfolio across Europe and Asia Pacific. Ravi Sinha, managing director at J.C. Resilience Capital Partners, a Cleveland, US-based private equity firm, has added Steven J. Demetriou as a member of its executive committee and its board of advisers. Since December 2004, Demetriou (pictured) has been the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Aleris International, an international aluminum company, following the merger of Commonwealth Industries and Imco Recycling. Demetriou served as president and chief executive officer of Commonwealth from June 2004, and a director of Commonwealth from 2002 until the merger. Michael Brehm has joined Munich-based venture capital firm Target Partners as a venture partner. Brehm (pictured), formerly a managing director of Berlin-based VZnet Netzwerke, will strengthen the venture capital firm’s focus on start-ups and consumer internet. I2BF, an international cleantech focused investment management group, has appointed David Waserstein as director of investments. Waserstein joins I2BF from US-based private equity firm Hudson Clean Energy Partners.
