Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune has appointed four Jersey-based partners.
James Hill became an equity partner of Mourant du Feu & Jeune earlier this year, and Felicia de Laat (pictured), Joel Hernandez and Michael Williams have been invited to become partners of Mourant LP.
The appointments are planned to take effect from 1 February 2010.
The promotions bolster the firm’s funds and finance and corporate practices in Jersey.

Partners Group, a Switzerland-based global alternative asset manager, has made two senior management promotions as well as some organisational changes.
The firm has promoted the following two members of the management team from senior vice presidents to managing directors: Roland Käslin, head finance, and Denis O’Malley, head Guernsey.
Partners Group has made some changes in the organisational structure of the firm, which will take effect as of 1 January 2010.
Following the successful development of the private real estate business to become a global asset management practice, it has become an independent department reporting directly to the executive board.
The
Alternative investment firm NIR Group has appointed Robert M. Cohen as managing director.
Based in the firm’s Roslyn, New York, headquarters, Cohen is responsible for overseeing operations and business development.

Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune has appointed James Wauchope as an equity partner in the Cayman Islands.
Wauchope (pictured) specialises in all areas of offshore finance and corporate work, with a particular focus on investment funds.
He worked at the City office of Simmons & Simmons before moving to the Cayman Islands in 1993 and was a partner at Maples and Calder before joining Mourant.

Shannon (pictured) is based in Canaan’s Westport, Connecticut office, from where he will support the firm’s current healthcare portfolio companies and identify new investment opportunities.
Shannon brings more than 15 years of biopharmaceutical operational experience leading product and business development to Canaan’s investments. He was most recently president and chief executive officer at CuraGen, a publicly-held biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology, which was acquired by Celldex Therapeutics in October 2009.

Mark Angelson, who joined the MidOcean executive board in 2004 and was named chairman in December 2007, will continue as a member of the board.

International law firm Dechert has appointed Olivier Dumas as a partner in the financial services practice group in Paris.
Prior to joining Dechert, Dumas (pictured) was a partner at Proskauer Rose where he was co-head of its Paris office’s private equity team focusing on fund formation.
Dumas advises on all tax and legal aspects of fund formation, the creation of management companies and financial regulatory matters. He is a member and adviser – currently on training matters and previously on ethics matters – to the French Private Equity Association. He is also a member of the European Venture Capital
Elevation Partners, a private equity firm focused on large-scale investments in consumer and technology businesses, has hired Rajiv Dutta as a managing director.
Dutta (pictured) brings to Elevation more than 25 years of senior operational and investment experience in consumer and technology businesses.
Most recently, he served as executive vice president of eBay and president of eBay Marketplaces.
In his new role, Dutta will work with Elevation’s five co-founders and the rest of the Elevation team to evaluate investment opportunities, advise the senior management of Elevation’s portfolio companies, and drive the overall strategy of the firm.
