Alternative investment boutique Future Capital Partners has appointed Glen Stewart as business development manager.
Stewart will be responsible for building working relationships with both clients and intermediaries.
Future Capital’s investment opportunities are available to investors through financial institutions, wealth managers, IFAs and accountants, and Stewart will help to further develop the firm’s network of these intermediaries. He will also play a significant role in business development and client liaison.
Among Stewart’s primary responsibilities will be the marketing of Future Capital’s newly launched Future Fuels, an LLP established to build a renewable transport fuel plant in the North East of
Atlantic-Pacific Capital, a placement agent for alternative investment funds and direct private placements, has appointed Christian H. Voss, former head of private capital markets for Cantor Fitzgerald, as partner in the direct private placements group.
Voss will focus on sourcing, structuring and execution. He will work closely with founder and chairman James Manley.

Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has named Annie Paydar head of human resources for the European and Mena regions.
Paydar has worked in human resources at Carlyle for more than five years, previously leading HR activities in the New York office. She will now be based in London.
Carlyle’s human resources team develops and implements Carlyle’s HR strategy and initiatives on a global basis, including compensation programmes, performance management, training and development, recruitment and retention, and organisational development.

UK venture philanthropy firm Impetus Trust has appointed Louis Elson, managing partner and co-founder of Palamon Capital Partners, as its new chairman.
Elson has been a trustee of Impetus since July 2009 and will officially become Impetus chairman on 24 March 2010.
Elson co-founded Palamon in 1999 and prior to this was a London-based partner of Warburg Pincus. He is a trustee of Phillips Academy – Andover, in his native US, and is a member of the development board of The Prince’s Trust.
Elson will take over from Impetus co-founder Stephen Dawson, who announced his intention to step down
Special situation private equity fund Versa Capital Management has opened offices in Chicago and Los Angeles with the addition of Suzanne Yoon and David McReynolds.
Yoon joins Versa as director – Midwest US, based in Chicago.
Prior to joining Versa, Yoon was a senior vice president of CIT’s national restructuring group.
Previously, she co-founded LaSalle Business Credit/ABN Amro’s corporate restructuring group.
Yoon was formerly the co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s finance committee, and is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association and International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
McReynolds joins Versa as director – Western US, based in
Private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners has made nine promotions.

Credit Suisse has appointed Neil Harvey as managing director and head of Asia Pacific and head of emerging markets globally for asset management, effective 1 February 2010.
Harvey (pictured) will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Robert Shafir, chief executive of asset management, and Kai Nargolwala, chief executive of Asia Pacific.

Red Fort Capital, a private equity real estate firm focused on India, has appointed Raj S. Inamdar as principal.
Inamdar will coordinate the firm’s expansion in areas such as completed asset acquisitions, third-party asset management, side-car ventures and debt financing.
These initiatives will complement Red Fort’s existing investment platform focused on real estate development.

Saints Capital, a secondary direct investment firm, has appointed Niko von Huetz as director of European investments.
Huetz (pictured) previously worked as investment director and partner at Add Partners, a pan-European, London-based ICT focused venture firm.
Before that he worked with ICG & Partners and was co-founder, VP marketing and business development for Kokua Communications.
He began his career as a manager at strategy consultants Booz.Allen & Hamilton.

European mid-market specialist BLM Partners has appointed Jeffrey Iverson as general counsel and a principal.
In addition to his responsibility for all legal and compliance matters, Iverson will work closely with the founding partners to continue to develop BLM’s investment offering and deliver its strategy.
Iverson joins BLM from Nomura International, where he was an executive director in the M&A advisory and merchant banking legal department. In that role, he advised on the integration of certain businesses acquired from Lehman Brothers as well as providing legal and regulatory advice to the European and Middle East M&A and merchant banking groups.
