Mid Europa Partners, a private equity firm focused on buyouts in Central Europe, has promoted Nikolaus Bethlen and Stefan Tzvetkov to director level.
Pawel Padusinski (pictured) and Cezary Pietrasik have been promoted to the associate director level, and Tomasz Blicharski and Vladislav Ratajac to senior associate.

Raphael Kassin, a specialist in emerging market bonds, has joined the Geneva-based group Reyl & Cie as head of emerging markets and debt.
Kassin, who took up his new position on 1 January, left Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was head of emerging markets fixed income, in June 2009 after the company’s asset management business to Aberdeen Asset Management.
During his two years with Credit Suisse he managed the Credit Suisse Bond Fund Emerging Markets.
Prior to that, he spent nine years managing the ABN Amro Global Emerging Markets Bond Fund.

Perceva Capital, a Paris-based independent investment company, has added Christophe Ambrosi to its team.
Ambrosi began his career in 1996 with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman).
In 2001 he joined the LBO firm Astorg Partners, and from 2005 to 2008 he worked at Butler Capital Partners.
In 2009, he worked with Maître Regis Valliot, out-of-court receiver, on more than ten special situations, before joining Perceva.
Perceva Capital now has six investment professionals.
Private equity firm The Carlyle Group has promoted 33 professionals to senior positions.
Seven people have been promoted to managing director and 26 to principal/director.
The individuals work in Carlyle’s offices around the globe conducting buyout, venture and growth capital, real estate and leveraged finance transactions, as well as accounting, communication, human resources, and legal and compliance activities.

As a principal, Maltz (pictured) will continue to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in rapidly-growing internet and software companies.

Private equity firm Elevation Partners has appointed Avadis “Avie” Tevanian as a managing director.
Tevanian (pictured) brings to Elevation more than two decades of operational and software expertise in consumer and technology businesses.
Most recently, Tevanian was chief software technology officer at Apple and a member of the company’s senior management team, where he led Apple’s software strategy and development.

New York Life Capital Partners, the private equity arm of New York Life Investments, has appointed Robert M. Barrack as managing director and chief operating officer.
In this newly created position, Barrack will manage the firm’s business administration, accounting and investor relation efforts.
He will report directly to Thomas Haubenstricker, chief executive officer of New York Life Capital Partners.
Barrack joins from The Blackstone Group, where during his 12 year tenure he served as managing director and chief financial officer of the firm’s private equity group and most recently as managing director in the firm’s investor relations and business development
Greylock Partners, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has promoted Isaac Fehrenbach and David Thacker to the position of associate partner.

The Riverside Company, a private equity firm investing in companies with enterprise values of under EUR150m, has promoted Karsten Langer and Juan Barnechea within its European organisation.
Langer, who joined Riverside in 2006, will become the transacting partner for Benelux and France.
Previously, Langer served as origination partner with Riverside for three years, where he was responsible for the creation and leadership of a pan-European origination team overseeing more than 1,200 deals annually.
In addition, Langer has played a critical role in the development of Riverside’s European team and the spread of the Riverside brand across Europe.
Barnechea will now
First Republic Bank, a provider of private banking and wealth management services, has added Julie Schneider, a senior banker with experience working with private equity and venture capital clients, to its Palo Alto office.
Schneider, who has more than 22 years of banking experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been named senior commercial lender in First Republic’s business banking group.
She will work with a team of bankers dedicated to venture capital, private equity, real estate funds and investment management clients at the bank’s offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.
