Siguler Guff, a private equity firm with over USD8bn in assets under management, has appointed Solomon Owayda as a managing director.
The firm will leverage Owayda’s private equity experience to provide investment solutions to investors and to cultivate and manage advisory relationships.

A&J Venture Capital Group has appointed Zhongwen Chen and Roger Zolg as directors.
Chen will become director and vice-president of the company.
Chen has a strong background and will be responsible for operations in China including the office in Hong Kong, selecting potential companies and expanding the firm’s existing network.
Previously Chen was executive director of HeySpace International, a SNS plus WebGame provider in China.

Hodes Weill, an advisory and investment business focused on the real estate private equity and private funds industry, has appointed Susan Swanezy as a partner.

Highland Capital Management, an investment management firm based in Dallas, Texas, has appointed Clay Shumway as a director in its business development group.

Multi-jurisdictional law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has made a fresh round of hires to its corporate team with the addition of associates Tara Rivers in the Cayman Islands and Claire McConway, Robert Alexander and Victor Richards in Bermuda.

General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, has appointed former Visa president Hans Morris as a special adviser.
Morris will provide strategic counsel to General Atlantic and its portfolio companies with a focus on the financial services sector, supporting the firm’s global growth equity investment programme.

Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, has appointed Joshua A. Lutzker as a managing director.
He joins the 11 current managing directors of Berkshire in managing the firm and its affiliated investment funds.
Lutzker originally joined Berkshire Partners in 1998 as an associate and returned to Berkshire in 2002 after graduating from business school. He has worked closely with a number of Berkshire’s consumer products and retailing companies.
Lutzker started his career as an associate consultant at Bain.
Channel Island law firm Carey Olsen has named Tim Corfield as a partner.
Corfield (pictured) specialises in banking and finance litigation and corporate disputes, including corporate insolvency and restructuring.
The appointment further strengthens the firm’s litigation team in Guernsey which now features five partners who are dedicated to the practice area.
Corfield says: “I am really looking forward to working with the other partners of the firm to further develop Carey Olsen’s already dominant market position in commercial litigation.”
Corfield qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and joined the banking and finance litigation team at Wragge & Co, later qualifying
The Association of Investment Companies has appointed Ian Sayers as director general of the association effective from 1 January 2010.
Sayers has been acting director general of the AIC since Daniel Godfrey left the association at the end of July 2009.
