Private equity firm Genstar Capital has appointed Hal Strong, former vice chairman of Russell Investments, as an operating executive. Strong brings to Genstar an extensive financial sector expertise that spans nearly 30 years. Since 1990, he served with Russell Investments, a global investment management firm with over USD150bn in assets under management that provides investment solutions to individual, institutional and adviser clients in more than 40 countries. BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services is a hedge fund administrator with more than USD200bn in assets under administration. Investment boutique Newscape Capital Group has continued its expansion with the appointment of another ex-Aberdeen Asset Management fixed income investment specialist. Leonardo Da Costa joins Newscape’s core investment team in London as a portfolio manager where he will work alongside chief investment officer Derek Fulton, who he worked with previously at Aberdeen. In this role he will conduct macroeconomic analysis as well as producing interest rate and yield curve views with specific responsibility for local currency emerging market debt investments. Miller Buckfire, an independent full service investment bank, has appointed veteran investment banker Jason R. Anderson as a managing director. Anderson will focus on companies active in the general industrial and automotive sectors and help lead Miller Buckfire’s growing strategic advisory practice. Anderson is the fourth senior level addition to Miller Buckfire’s advisory practice in 2009. He joins from Banc of America Securities, where he was a managing director with senior client coverage responsibilities for diversified industrial clients and head of automotive investment banking.
