Palamon Capital Partners, a mid-market private equity firm, has appointed Dr Richard Wolman to its board of advisers.

Wolman (pictured) is a consultant in human resource development with a particular focus on high-performance knowledge businesses such as investment firms, trading houses and management consultancies.

He began his career in medicine in South Africa before specialising in psychiatry at St George’s Hospital in London and establishing a speciality in management development frameworks for entrepreneurial businesses.  He has worked extensively in Europe, the Middle East and the US.

Since 2008, Wolman has been working with Palamon on internal development strategies and assisting its investment team in the evaluation of portfolio company management.

Dr Wolman joins 12 other business leaders on Palamon’s board of advisers.

Louis Elson, managing partner of Palamon Capital Partners, says: ‘We are delighted to welcome Richard Wolman to Palamon’s board of advisers. Our advisers are actively engaged in a wide range of Palamon activities and having Richard’s perspective and expertise among them will be of great benefit to our Firm. Richard’s experience in addressing the complex issues faced by entrepreneurial managers will be of enormous value to the young and fast-growing companies in Palamon’s portfolio.’

Wolman says: ‘Palamon has a strong track record in building outstanding businesses and partnering world-class management teams. I am very pleased to have this opportunity to work with the team as they grow their firm and broaden their investment activities.’

The addition of Wolman follows the recruitment of two vice-presidents during the first quarter of 2009.
