Guernsey has extended market access to EU Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) doing business in Guernsey.
The move follows the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)’s advice to the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament that the EU Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD) passport should be extended to Guernsey.
Guernsey’s Government, the States of Guernsey, has now amended its Investor Protection regulations for AIFMs and AIFs based in EU Member States that have fully implemented AIFMD in order to enable easier movement between Guernsey and EU markets.

Cybersecurity has become a focus of the hedge fund industry lately and regulators are taking an increasing interest in assessing the resilience of firms to cyber attacks. HarbourVest Global Private Equity Limited (HVPE) has successfully admitted its ordinary shares to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
HVPE’s ordinary shares will commence trading on the London Stock Exchange’s flagship market at 8:00 am on 9 September 2015 under the symbol HVPE.
HVPE’s market quote on the London Stock Exchange has been redenominated into Sterling. European private equity firm Cinven has agreed to sell AMCo, a niche specialty pharmaceuticals group to TSX/Nasdaq-listed Concordia Healthcare Corp for an enterprise value of GBP2.3 billion.
The deal will comsist of a combination of cash, common shares of Concordia, and a maximum performance-based earnout of approximately GBP145 million over the next 12 months.
Cinven created AMCo, which focuses on the sale of niche prescription off-patent products, in 2012 through the transformative merger of Mercury Pharma (‘Mercury’) and Amdipharm, both of which were acquired in bilateral transactions, in August and October 2012 respectively.

Private equity firm Sverica Capital Management has closed on its sale of RestorixHealth to an investment group led by Leonard Green & Partners.
Based in Tarrytown, NY, RestorixHealth provides comprehensive, turnkey wound care management solutions to hospitals.
Sverica acquired a majority interest in RestorixHealth (then The Center for Wound Healing) in December 2010. Over the course of its investment, Sverica optimised the organisational structure of the business, added depth to the management team, guided the company through double digit organic growth, and completed three add-on acquisitions.
