Sovereign expands deal team

UK private equity firm Sovereign Capital has hired Luke Kingston, Jonathan Marlow, Jonathan Kay, Ross Coull and Elizabeth Buckle.

Kingston joins Sovereign’s deal team from Ernst & Young. He has significant buy-side advice experience having completed numerous transactions with a variety of private equity houses. He also brings six years of support services focus to Sovereign as well as more than a decade of advising entrepreneurs in the UK lower mid-market.
Marlow joins Sovereign’s deal team from Barclays Ventures. Marlow has principal investing experience having completed a number of deals across a variety of sectors, including most recently, two in the healthcare space. In addition, Marlow had portfolio management responsibility across five businesses whilst at Barclays Ventures.
Kay joins Sovereign’s deal team from Lloyds. He has completed 12 transactions over the past three years: most recently with the Lloyds leverage finance team, focussing on mid and large cap LBO transactions, and also previously at Lloyds Development Capital in the London investment team.
Coull joins Sovereign’s deal team from Booz. Coull has gained a broad range of strategy consulting experience over the past five years, including the origination and evaluation of a number of mid-market private equity opportunities.
Buckle joins Sovereign from Impetus Trust as marketing and communications manager to support Sovereign’s expanded investment team and to generate further exposure.
