International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has appointed Mark Metcalfe and Sarah Souter within the firm’s UK corporate practice as the firm looks to build its offering in the lower and mid-market private equity space.
Metcalfe and Souter were previously Partners at law firm Gateley Legal, having both joined in 2016.
Metcalfe advises private equity funds, portfolio companies, management teams and founders.
Souter also specialises in private equity and mergers and acquisitions, routinely advising private equity funds, management teams and investee companies in the lower and mid-market private equity space in all aspects of an investment life cycle, in particular advising on earlier-stage investments. She acts for both investors’ venture capital trusts as well as investee companies on the initial investments, as well as follow-on rounds and restructuring.
Trowers & Hamlins has over 170 partners, according to a press release, and ten offices located in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Birmingham, Dubai, Exeter, London, Malaysia, Manchester, Oman and Singapore, as well as dedicated Korea and India desks.
