The asset management arm of Abu Dhabi state investor Mubadala has led a $100 million equity funding round in Swedish fintech Juni, according to a report by Reuters.
Juni has also raise an addition $106 million in venture debt financing from Silicon Valley-based TriplePoint Capital.
Juni’s existing investors – EQT Ventures, Felix Capital, Cherry Ventures and Partners of DST Global – also participated in the funding round.
Blackstone has made progress on its $6.3 billion buyout bid for troubled casino operator Crown Resort after Australia’s gambling regulators granted the the PE firm permission to run the Crown Resorts casinos in the country’s two largest cities, according to a report by Reuters.
Sydney-listed Crown, which is 37% owned by billionaire James Packer, has backed Blackstone’s buyout offer having been damaged by revelations that it enabled money laundering and hit hard by the global pandemic.
Apollo Global Management Inc is in talks to support retail store operator Franchise Group’s acquisition of department store chain Kohl’s Corp through the provision of up to $2 billion in debt financing, according to a report by Reuters.

Numinus Wellness has acquired Novamind following Novamind’s receipt of a final order from the BC Supreme Court.
As a result of the acquisition, Numinus now operates 13 wellness clinics, four clinical research facilities and a dedicated psychedelics research lab – positioning the company as a leading integrated mental wellness company providing ketamine- and psychedelic-assisted therapies.
This acquisition significantly grows Numinus’ client service offerings, geographic reach, and revenues.
Numinus has also appointed Dr Reid Robison (MD) as Chief Clinical Officer and Dr Paul Thielking (MD) as Chief Science Officer, who both join the Company from Novamind.
AmeriLife Group (AmeriLife), a specialist in developing, marketing, and distributing life and health insurance, annuities, and retirement planning solutions, has secured an investment from Genstar Capital (Genstar), a private equity firm focused on investments in targeted segments of the financial services, healthcare, industrials and software industries.
Genstar will join AmeriLife’s current private equity investor, Thomas H Lee Partners (THL), as an equal investor.
After six years of partnership with Excel Fitness, Altamont Capital Partners (Altamont) has exited its investment with a sale of the company to Olympus Partners.
As part of that transaction, completed last month, Excel’s management team and founders, along with Altamont, established a bonus pool that provided every employee at the company – more than 1,500 individuals – with a payment at closing, in recognition of their contributions.
Altamont acquired the Planet Fitness franchisee business in 2016, building on its prior multi-unit consumer investing experience, including with Tacala, the largest Taco Bell franchisee in the country.

Magic Spoon announced has raised $85 million in a Series B funding round led by HighPost Capital, a private investment firm focused on the global consumer and consumer technology sectors, and its first-ever retail launch exclusively into Target stores nationwide.
HighPost Capital is joined by Siddhi Capital, Coefficient Capital, Constellation Capital, Carter Comstock, and more. Celebrity investors include Shakira, Russell Westbrook, Halsey, The Chainsmokers, Amy Schumer, Odell Beckham Jr, and Nas.

Pixellot, a specialist in automated sports video and analytics solutions, has completed a $161 million funding round led by PSG, a growth equity firm partnering with software and technology-enabled services companies.
The round also includes secondary capital from existing investors.
As part of the transaction, Ronen Nir, Managing Director at PSG, and Govind Anand, Principal at PSG, have both joined Pixellot’s Board of Directors.
Pixellot intends to use the funds to support its global market expansion and to enhance its video, analytics and highlights value proposition to fans, athletes and coaches at all levels.
The Building Cost Information Service (BCIS), a UK-based cost benchmarking and valuation platform for construction, has secured investment from LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group.
