Baseload Capital has embarked on its first project in the US to harness excess heat from oil and gas wells. This will also be the company’s first collaboration with German supplier Orcan Energy. After evaluating several potential locations, Baseload Capital identified a suitable site with excess hot water, which is a byproduct in the oil and gas extraction process. Using Orcan Energy’s modular solution which have proven successful in the oil and gas environment, the geothermal heat from this otherwise unutilised energy source will be used to generate CO2-free electricity.
PRO Unlimited, an integrated workforce management (IWM) platform provider, is to acquire Geometric Results, Inc. (GRI), an independent, outsourced workforce management specialist, from funds managed by Bain Capital Private Equity Europe. This acquisition will increase the value of PRO’s IWM platform by adding GRI’s proven Managed Services Program (MSP) capabilities to its robust portfolio of SaaS, Talent Intelligence and Professional Services solutions.     GRI is currently owned by MSX International, a portfolio company of funds managed by Bain Capital Europe, that provides technology-enabled business process outsourcing. 
px Group, an infrastructure solutions business and operator of several UK energy sites, has acquired Fairport Engineering (Fairport), the engineering and materials handling specialist based in the Northwest of England which includes Fairport Tunnelling Technologies in Sunderland. The deal, the value of which is undisclosed, brings Fairport’s materials handling expertise into px Group’s group of businesses. The acquisition is the company’s first since being acquired itself by Ara Partners in April 2021 and follows the acquisition of Camm-Pro and NRG Well Management in 2019 and 2020 respectively.  Fairport’s 70-plus staff will now be part of px Group. px Group says
Abris Capital Partners, a Central European private equity investor, is to acquire a majority stake in Orbitvu – a specialist in automated product photography solutions. Orbitvu, founded in Poland in 2010, has grown to become the leading player in the global market for automated photography solutions. The company provides a one-stop-shop solution for visual content creation and management via compact photo studios and software. Customer benefits include time and cost savings in content production and post-processing. Orbitvu’s solutions are used to capture still and 360° product images as well as live model videos for various sectors including apparel, consumer goods,
Global growth private equity firm TA Associates is to acquire TouchTunes, an in-venue, interactive music and entertainment platform, from funds advised by Searchlight Capital Partners (Searchlight) and Newlight Partners (Newlight). TouchTunes has established a network of more than 65,000 connected digital jukeboxes in bars, brewpubs, restaurants and other social spaces across North America and Europe.  TouchTunes jukeboxes also offer a variety of interactive experiences, including an integrated photo booth solution. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, is expected to close in early April.
CRB Group, the parent company of Cross River Bank (Cross River), a technology infrastructure provider that offers embedded financial solutions, today announced a USD620 million financing. The round was led by Eldridge and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from funds and accounts advised by T Rowe Price Investment Management, Inc, Whale Rock and Hanaco Ventures.  Several of Cross River’s existing investors and significant partners also participated in the round. FT Partners served as exclusive strategic and financial advisor to Cross River on this transaction.
Amulet Capital Partners (Amulet), a middle-market private equity investment firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut, focused exclusively on the healthcare sector, has recapitalised Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions (Lighthouse), a network of outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment facilities headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Founded in 2018, Lighthouse helps improve the lives of patients suffering from substance use disorder by delivering a suite of outpatient-oriented services and supportive resources such as recovery housing aimed at addressing the Social Determinants of Health. 
A group of private equity investors is to acquire Nielsen, a TV ratings and marketing data company, in a deal worth USD16 billion, including debt.
Investment
Alpha Wave Global and Tiger Global Management have co-led a USD70 million Series D funding round in Classplus, a Delhi-based edtech start-up which offers a digital platform for coaching centres.
Hg, a software and services investor, has agreed to become a significant minority shareholder in Global cloud software company IFS and WorkWave.
