Commonfund Capital has closed its inaugural environmental sustainability fund, Commonfund Capital Environmental Sustainability Partners 2020 at $233 million.
The fund had strong support from a variety of limited partners globally including foundations, endowments, family offices, pensions, corporations, registered investment advisors and consultants.
The private equity investment partnership will make direct investments into companies, operating platforms and specialist manager funds and secondaries in a diversified set of environmental sustainability sectors and themes including renewables; food, agriculture and water; and resource efficiency. White Star Capital has launched its second Digital Assets Fund (DAF II), which will continue to invest in crypto-networks and early-stage blockchain-enabled Web3 businesses, with a focus on DeFi and Gaming.
The fund is backed by major institutional investors and corporations including Ubisoft as an anchor LP.

Convent Capital has launched the Agri Food Growth Fund, which offers growth capital to innovative and sustainable companies in the AgriFood industry.
The fund has raised more than €50 million in capital from its investor network and will in the coming months acquire capital from institutional investors to grow to €150 million or beyond. Its first investment is in an innovative manufacturer of plant-based animal feed additives.

Aquila Capital’s Aquila Capital Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) is continuing to deliver attractive and stable performance in its fifth year.
After the company announced in April 2020 that the fund volume had reached €200 million, ACIF’s volume has since doubled due to continued high interest from investors and stands at more than €400 million today.

PFR Ventures invested €22 million (PLN 100 million) into two private debt funds – Polish CVI and UK-based Beechbrook.
Both provide debt financing to companies. With this deal, PFR Ventures has broadened its PFR PE programme to include such funds.

Irish private equity firm Melior Equity Partners has held the final close of Melior Equity Partners Fund II with EUR160 million of total capital commitments, making it one of the largest private equity funds in the country.
Melior was launched by Jonathan Cosgrave and Peter Garvey in 2020. Melior Equity Partners Fund II is backed by a pool of local and international blue-chip investors including The Carlyle Group, the European Investment Fund, Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, Bank of Ireland and AIB and will support ambitious Irish SMEs with strong growth prospects.

Dublin-based venture capital firm Delta Partners has launched a new fund which which will invest in seed and early-stage technology businesses in Ireland.
The fund has reached a first close with Bank of Ireland and Enterprise Ireland as cornerstone investors, supported by Fexco and several family offices. New investors will be added to the fund over the coming year, with a target close of EUR70 million.

In addition, the firm has promoted Kelly Dill and Logan Langberg to Partner.
