Aruwa Capital Management (Aruwa), a female founded and led private equity firm focused on Nigeria and Ghana, has launched a USD20 million co-investment vehicle. Aruwa‘s mission is to provide patient growth capital to established and rapidly growing companies in the small to lower middle market and it expects to execute four to five investments, averaging US USD1-5 million, over the next 24 months. To date, capital has been raised from international and West African based family offices and high-net-worth individuals. ARX Equity Partners (ARX), a private equity firm with a 20-year track record supporting the growth and development of mid-sized companies in Central Europe, has completed the majority acquisition of TES Vsetin (TES). Headquartered in Vsetin, Czech Republic, TES is an engineering company active primarily in the manufacturing of system components relating to electrical machines, in addition to both the design and manufacturing of its own proprietary machines, such as generators and electric motors. Maven Capital Partners (Maven), has led a GBP4 million investment in language understanding business, Relative Insight (RI). The transaction comprises a GBP3 million package from Maven’s VCTs alongside GBP1 million from NPIF – Maven Equity Finance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund. Acino and Takeda Pharmaceuticals have signed an agreement for Acino to acquire parts of Takeda’s primary care portfolio in selected countries in the Middle East and Africa, and in Ukraine. The acquisition will further strengthen Acino’s position in these important regions. iLOQ’s main shareholders have signed a contract for the sale of the firm to a company that is majority owned by Nordic Capital Fund IX for around EUR190 million. The final amount of the purchase price will be specified at the time of the completion of the transaction.  The transaction, which is subject to the approval of the necessary competition authorities, is expected to close in 2019.   iLOQ announced via press release back in May 2018 that it was to evaluate opportunities for the listing of the company’s shares and other possible options to ensure the company’s rapid growth
An affiliate of alternative investment specialist Cerberus Capital Management is to acquire the North American, Costa Rican, and Japanese businesses and related facilities of Closure Systems International, a specialist inclosure design, manufacturing, and high-speed application systems, from Reynolds Group Holdings Limited (Reynolds Group). Reynolds Group will retain and continue to operate closures businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, and South America.   The acquired businesses of Closure Systems International (CSI) provide closures for a wide variety of bottles and containers and is the largest producer of closures in North America. DWS has held the first close of its new closed-ended European Direct Lending fund with commitments of more than EUR350 million from investors across Europe and Asia. The fund is expected to be a third invested at first close and is targeting a final close of EUR500-700 million by the end of 2019.   DWS currently manages more than EUR130 billion across investment grade, hybrid, high yield and bank loan strategies. The Fund will co-invest alongside Buetsche Bank’s European Direct Lending business to senior European mid-market private loans. This will provide investors with access to Deutsche Bank’s pan-European network.  
Resonance British Wind Energy Income II, an authorised, close-ended investment fund focused on the wind farm sector in the UK and Ireland, has been launched as a Guernsey Green Fund. Lovell Minnick Partners, a private equity firm focused on investments in the global financial services industry, has completed the acquisition of Billhighway, a provider of integrated software and payments solutions to membership-based organisations (MBOs). Financial terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.   Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Billhighway provides SaaS-based accounting and transaction processing services to MBOs such as fraternities, sororities, unions and associations. MBOs use the Company’s technology suite for accounting, reconciliation and reporting while leveraging a full suite of electronic bill payment and presentment solutions. Private investment firm KKR has acquired a majority stake in Hyperoptic Ltd, the UK’s largest residential gigabit broadband provider, from funds managed by Newlight Partners (Newlight) and Mubadala Investment Company. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Hyperoptic will continue to be led by Chief Executive Officer Dana Tobak, CBE and Executive Chairman Boris Ivanovic.
